Hi guys
Haven't been here in a while because I strongly dislike most of you, but, I had to share this because I think many of you will really love it.
I picked up this book at the airport in Sioux Falls, and almost immediately I was thinking of you guys.
It claims to be about what "white people" like... but upon reading it... it becomes clear that it's not really talking about "white people" so much as pretentious self-important deeply-hypocritical douche bags. I know plenty of "black" and "hispanic" and "asian" people that fit this stereotype, living around Washington DC and out in California, even one Iranian. I'm sure you know the type. I was reminded immediately of the long rant that was posted on here once about "free thinkers." I think Phil wrote it, but maybe it was Frank or someone else I don't remember.
Also, repeatedly in the book there are references to, but never a precise description of, "the wrong kind of white people." This was the part that made me most directly think of my friends here at the shmooz, since, with the possible exceptions of Troy and Phil, pretty much everyone here is without question "the wrong kind of white person," as indirectly described in the book.
Anyway, I think all of you would get a real kick out of reading it. You can probably find it at your local airport bookstore, in the humor section at Barnes & Noble or Borders, at any college book store, or your pick of pretentious coffee shop. In addition to being very funny it's also quite insightful in many ways.
I'm also well aware that everyone here thinks of me as the sort of pretentious douche bag that the book describes the interests of. I maintain that I am not... but... this is unimportant. If you think that I am, then doubtless your ability to draw parallels between your image of me and the caricatures in the book will enhance your reading experience.
