I'm gettin pretty excited to get out and tailgate a festival and see some bands jam out.
I havent been to a concert since friggin January for Ozzy and Zombie.
I used to go to a show once a month back in my younger years.

I'm getting pumped for Mayhem Fest.
I'm gonna get all the CDs of bands from the tour that I own and bring them in my car.

Slipknot - Slipknot, Iowa, Volume 3 The Subliminal Verses, 9.0 Live
Disturbed - The Sickness, Believe, Ten Thousand Fists, Indestructible
Machine Head - Burn My Eyes, The More Things Change, The Burning Red, Supercharger, Hella Live, Through the Ashes of Empires, The Blackening
DragonForce - Sonic Firestorm, Valley of the Damned, Inhuman Rampage, Ultra Beatdown
Five Finger Death Punch - The Way Of The Fist
36 Crazyfists - Bitterness The Star, A Snow Capped Romance, Rest Inside The Flames, The Tide and its Takers
Black Tide - Light From Above

that should be enough to last me through the rest of the week. hahaha
already finished 5FDP and now i'm listening to MH's The Blackening.
Hopefully Slipknot's new album is leaked online before Friday.

I listened to 5FDP, Machine Head - The Blackening, DragonForce - Imhuman Rampage, 36 Crazyfists - Rest Inside The Flames, and Slipknot - Iowa all in the last couple days. Gonna throw in some old Disturbed for the ride to work tomorrow. I'm getting seriously pumped.

Tailgating with some Smorg members around Noon. Scottyeli and Jimmyp.
Concert starts at 2, probably going in sometime after 5.

MAYHEM!!!!!!!!!!!

Me, JimmyP, Scottyeli, and my cousin Matt tailgated the shit out of this concert yesterday. From about 1 to 5 in the parking lot. Got in and saw some of 36 Crazyfists which I was happy about because they were supposed to be on earlier but had to switch with another band. Then Walls of Jericho came on. All I remember from them is Jim heckling them because he just wanted to see Machine Head. So when they were done, we jumped up to the front of the 2nd stage while most of the crowd went to the 3rd stage to see Underoath. We were right up front for Machine Head and they rocked the house. Best performance of the night. Even though Disturbed and Slipknot were good, they're on the main stage so its a less personal experience. I like being up in the front fighting for position sweating it out with other hardcore fans. I mean sure its uncomfortable as shit but it just makes for a crazy experience.

All in all, Rockstar Mayhem Fest was a great time. Hopefully it becomes an annual thing. With Ozzfest going back to a tour next year, thats 2 metal festivals in the summer. Nice.

Yeah I had an awesome time, I think I'd like disturbed more at the Electric Factory or the Troc, everytime I see them I'm a million miles away. Except when we were hanging out with the speakers, then I just couldn't see haha. I think I hate the Tweeter Center, the 2nd stages are cool because you get that small venue feel but I'd take one at the Troc or Factory any day of the week.

Oh and my ribs/back/neck are all sore as hell from fighting off people for 45 minutes haha.

"Kerrang!" are reporting that Marilyn Manson, Slayer and Trivium are in the running for the upcoming 2009 edition of the "Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival". As previously reported, Behemoth are also expected to show up on the bill, while Cannibal Corpse will be a headlining act on a new 'extreme metal' stage.

Not impressed so far. I'll be seeing Trivium in February so them getting added to this doesnt mean much to me. I know Slayer is classic metal but I dont have any desire to see them. Its always cool seeing Manson though but then the place gets packed with weirdies. I dont care about extreme metal so I'll tailgate for that whole stage. Still waiting on a band that makes me really want to go.

That might be a pass for me. I like Manson and Bullet but not enough to spend the cash and the day off of work. I dont like Slayer at all so I dont care about that. And were seeing Trivium in a few weeks.

If they switched up Slayer and All that Remains the main stage would be amazing.

Scott, if you wanna get a group together for Mayhem Fest I'd definitely go for 16 bucks. I only work until 11:30 on Fridays so I can go over to tailgate at 12 like last year.

I just realized I like 8 bands there.
Slayer, Manson, Killswitch, Trivium, Bullet for my Valentine, God Forbid, All That Remains, and Mushroomhead.
