Hey, some people become bald before they even turn 40.

Don't they have stuff that helps stop it before you are completely bald?

If that stuff actually worked, wouldn't you think that no one would be bald?

If I ever go bald then I'm gonna shave my hair as short as possible.
If it looks dumb then oh well. I'd rather have that then the horseshoe baldness.

so far i have no signs of balding though.

I'm surprised you're losing your hair Frank. Your dad has a full head of hair.

Falling Down FTW

hah believe it or not, i did some research and ive read that the whole mother's side thing is a myth. however being grey isnt terrible. if i had to make a choice i'd pick going grey over loosing it. being grey gives you some distinction...being bald just looks sad.

its possible i won't go completely bald cuz there's no one in my family like that, but phil i used to think the same thing you just said. we're gonna have to see who's more balder on the podcast among the summers brothers. hahah

thats not fair... the mole on the side of my head takes up more than 60% of my skull... and consumes valuable hair space... phil on the other hand has hair like jesus... not very fair :(

GEORGE (examining Kurt's head with a lamp): Yep. Classic horseshoe pattern. I've seen a lot of this.
KURT: Oh, God.
GEORGE: No, no, Kurt - wrong attitude. You should be happy now.
KURT: Happy? Why should I be happy?
GEORGE: You've still got pretty good coverage. Once the enemy advances beyond this perimeter - <points at Kurt's head with a pen> - then you won't be Kurt anymore.
KURT: Who will I be?

<George points at himself. Kurt shudders.>

KURT: How long do I have?
GEORGE: 14 months. Maybe 10.
KURT: Is there anything I can do?
GEORGE: Yes. Live, dammit. Live Every precious moment as if this was the last year of your life!! Because in many ways...it is.

Sad to say I will also be joining this club, but I never really had a chance. Both Uncles, Grandfather, and my cousin are all bald so genetics is taking it's course. My one Grandfather kept his hair, but he was the only one. I'll probably be going for the Steve Austin look by the time I'm 30. Like Costanza said, TIME TO LIVE DAMN IT!

So I noticed lately in some pictures that my hair looks a little thin in the back. I do have somewhat of a cowlick back there so you could always see some of my scalp but its looking a little worse these days. So I'm about to succumb to the fact that I'm probably going bald. For the last year I've been cutting my hair short once a month and it seems the shiniest and worst right after a haircut so I'm experimenting and growing my hair out to see what it looks like.

My grandpop on my dad's and mom's side both had hair their whole life.
My dad started going bald in his 30s. So I thought it skipped a generation but looks like its not this time. haha

I thought of this because I was looking at my head in some wedding pictures and then in the pic I posted earlier today in the Dog thread. I cut the hair out and here it is.

I think you can just generalize this thread to aging. Getting old just plain sucks. In the beginning of this year, I noticed that I'm starting to get wrinkles on my forehead. I think about it constantly now and try not to crease my forehead anymore. I also noticed that I am becoming a lot more aware of signs of aging in others as well. I have gone out to Sephora and asked about anti-aging/wrinkle solutions on multiple occasions. I'm trying to eat a lot more fruits, vegetables, and fish now. They are good for the skin. I also put on suntan lotion whenever I'm out in the sun. I still get comments on how young I look but who knows how long that will last.... I don't feel young... I feel like an old old man. :(

yeah i've got a receeding hairline. however, judging by the amount of hair i leave all over my apartment, you'd think i'd be bald as a cue ball by now.

but yeah, i just feel tired all the time now. like, i cant stay up like i used to (which should make tomorrow nights NES marathon interesting), and i feel like i just have mystery aches and pains all the time. like one week my elbow hurts, then the next its my hip. most of my pains come from work though. i spend way too many hours in front of a cintiq working.

I don't think i'm going bald as I haven't seen any hair missing... but my hair definately grows slower. I used to need a haircut every 3-4 weeks. When I did the playoff beard I went 9 weeks and barely needed one at that point.
My hair seems thinner in the front too, if i wear it down then you can see right through it, but I've never noticed losing any. Baldness isn't in my family either, but I've worn a hat everyday for about the past 12 years..... though i've heard that hat thing is just a myth.

Man, that sucks. My family has thin hair by nature and baldness is pretty prevalent in our bloodline.

My grandfather still has a full head of hair, but my father went gray at forty and started losing hair some time later.

I always let my hair grow out for, like, half a year after a cut, so chances are I'll end up going bald before too long. My sympathy goes out to you Johnny.

Growing my hair out seems to have worked. People have said they dont see a thinning spot in the back anymore. But I'm already getting annoyed by my longer hair. This is the reason I havent grown it out in a couple years. I like getting out of the shower, drying my head off in 2 seconds, and then I'm good to go. Now I cant or it'll be flipping all over the place. We'll see how long I can last.

my bald spot definitely got worse since last posting here in september 2008. i should really shave my head once a week to hide it but i'm too lazy. i had about 3 weeks of growth going and the back looked terrible. i cant really see it in a mirror so i never notice. but today i purposely checked on it and it was bad. its getting worse every year. so i shaved my head. damn this old age!
