Apparently Good Morning America let the cat out of the bag and confirmed that Wii Fit will be priced at 89 smackers. A whole 10 dollars cheaper than people thought. Wow. Anyway, being that it was Good Morning America (of all things) to anounce the price and feature Wii Fit... well, get ready for Wii Fit to take over the planet (again).

I forget the exact date but I think sometime in May.

I have a Best Buy gift card that I need to spend by June for 45 dollars, so I'm gonna put it towards Wii Fit.

I'm sure it will be fun. Just not so sure it will be $89 + tax worth of fun.

Yeah 89 dollars is steep. If I didn't have a gift card I probably wouldn't buy it myself.

Wii Fit is just.......stupid. Everytime Nintendo comes out with one of these things, I lose faith in them.

But I don't think you are the target audience for Wii Fit. I think they are trying to expand the market. One untapped market is the old people market. I think that's what this thing is really for. I can see a lot of old people in retirement homes digging it. Anything that increases consumer spending in the video game industry, I'm for. However, I do think Nintendo is starting to alienate the mainstream video gamers. I guess they figure 360 and PS3 will take care of that crowd. Nintendo is moving towards the much younger crowd or the much older crowd. While the people like us are thinking Nintendo is the major ghey.

while ive already said that i'm not interested in wii fit, JLP makes a point, and its exactly why i like nintendo. they do things that aren't the norm, and are not afraid to experiment. as phil's pointed out in his posts from before about their controllers, they have shown a tendency to introduce things into the market place that at first are scorned, and suddenly find a home in main stream stuff.

wii fit is not for me, but i know it will do well. its a quirky device that i can see people enjoying. the astronimocal sales of rock band have proven that a device like this will sell as long as its packaged with a decent software package...thats the real trick right there and it has yet to be seen how that will pan out until people have actually tried it.

You know what, I can't wait for Wii Fit. I want to play a game where I don't turn into a god damned mad man. I just want to have fun and maybe lose a pound or two.

Wii Fit for the big mother fucking win. I'll Falcon Punch a soccer mom right in the face to secure my copy day one.

Dude, I watched that clip of Captain Falcon doing the falcon punch to that guy and making the universe explode 10 times today. I love it. I think I need to find that cartoon and watch the whole thing.

WHAT?! I must have missed this clip, which thread?

I watched a few episodes of the F-Zero cartoon when it was on Fox and I don't remember any Falcon punches, I just remember it not being very good.

And yes, Batman is now rattling my avatar.

Slightly Wii Fit related. Looks like Raving Rabbids 3 is going to be a balance board game. IGN just posted a teaser for the game. Just wanted to throw it out there.

Snagged a copy of Wii Fit, and I went against what I said I'd do and paid the full 90 bucks. I went over to BestBuy hoping to use my gift card and I saw plenty of them lining the floor (with guards). I asked the girl at the register for one and she asked if I preordered. I said no and she told me sorry. I asked if they did have any to give to customers before that and she said "Yeah we had a big line this morning for it." I couldn't believe that I walked into Super Buys and could not obtain one from their large surplus. Also on the way into the store I saw three people leaving with Wiis, and another person leaving with one on the way out. Going to another stellar month for Nintendo hardware without question.

At this point I was freakin determined to own Wii Fit, so I went over to Targer where they only had 4 left on an end cap that was likely full of them. So I snagged one. Guess I'll end up using the gift card for MGS4, even though I already plunked down 5 bucks at Gameslop.
