This is the worst holiday ever. Does anyone else have a different perspective?

So what are you guys getting your wives/fiances? I really don't feel the need to spend hundreds of dollars on a present. I got flowers. Nice ones. I think that and a good meal should be sufficient enough. Oh, and I don't like buying flowers either. It just seems like a waste of money to me. It's good for a few days, then it's trash. There you go, $70 down the shitter.

Last year I went to Niagara Falls for 3 days which was pretty cool.
This year I'm not doing anything. Me and the old lady are trying to save for our wedding so all we're doing is dinner and a movie on the weekend after V-Day.

Fuck expensive flowers, I goto Shoprite for my roses. No card, no chocolate, just a dozen shitty-ass frozen roses from Shoprite. I hate Valentines Day.

Apparently the website I got the flowers didn't even ask me for a date on when I'd like it to be delievered and it was delivered the SAME DAY! SHE GOT THEM YESTERDAY! Oh well, that's all the flowers she'll be getting.

I really hate the principle of the holiday, but I always give something nonetheless. Usually I did the flower route, but this year I went with something different. My girlfriend's a big fan of Avatar (check it out, one of the few cartoons on Nick anymore), so I decided to get her a stuffed animal of Appa. He's this big flying buffalo with six legs, and she thinks he's adorable.

Luckily, she's relatively easy to please. Also, she's pretty good on getting something for me as well. She got me a kickass wall scroll from the movie Metropolis last year.

Funny how you're going to go see a movie about pregnancy on valentines day. xD

Shit, that's a brilliant idea. My wife would so love a stuffed Appa instead of flowers. Where'd you get him? Online?

edit: I found an Appa and Momo combo, is that what you got?

I had that in March, Colleens birthday is the 5th and our anniversary was the 8th. I hope to totally ignore that anniversary now and just go with the marriage date.

Yep, and it was from the official Nickelodeon store. I don't think it's even released yet but it says that the shipping of the item starts 2/10. That might be pushing it, but maybe if it's rush delivery it can get there on time?

There's also a 24 inch stuffed Appa, but that just seemed too damn big.

And, ah, size doesn't matter...right?

The Valentines Day weekend movie has been decided upon.
Definitely, Maybe. With Ryan Reynolds and Abigail Breslin.

UGH!

Yeah that deserves a UGH hahaha

I really hate Ryan Reynolds, his character he plays in every movie is old, especially in the movie with the lady from Scary Movie. I forget what its called but he was so annoying in it.

I actually dont mind him THAT much...i admit he does get annoying at times but he was great in Van Wilder, Blade III and Amityville Horror

I wasn't a huge Van Wilder fan, I saw it way later then everyone else. Everyone talked about it like it was the greatest comedy ever and I thought it was so so, granted I watched it on Comedy Central, but if a movie is funny it should still be funny even with edits. The Big Lebowski is still hilarious on Comedy Central.

Van Wilder was probably the last good National Lampoon movie.
I liked it, but it cant even lace the boots of the older NL movies.
