thoughts? does anyone besides Scott listen to it?
I downloaded it and I'll be checking out his first show when I have free time.
Not sure if I'll listen to every last minute of it but I will surely be skimming through tonight and tomorrow during work (after O&A of course).

I dont hate Stern but I doubt I'll download anymore than this one.
I am just curious to see what the "King" has to say on his first day and how much different his show will actually be. I realize it cant be too different in one day but hey whatever.

I didn't get to hear it this morning, but I have it on right now and think it's off to a good start. Sulu is a great addition and all of his comments are great. Basically, they are all getting adjusted to their new home and talking about Sulu being a homo. I think this is good for Satellite radio overall and hope more people get on board, because I don't know how people can stand regular radio anymore. I had to listen to it this morning because I didn't have my car and it was absolutely terrible. Every DJ is the same and every DJ stinks. The Commercials stink and the selection of music stinks. I'll gladly pay 13 bucks a month so I don't have to hear that bullshit.

i listen to the replay for about 2 hours and i must say its nothing different. Which is a good thing. Sulu is great his voice just cracks me up when hes laughing. They tried to call Free FM to David Lee Roth and they wouldnt give them permission to talk to him. They thought it was a prank call and Davids guys didnt believe that it was Gary calling. Then the prank call guy calls in and says he got a call from one of the producers asking him if he was prank calling the station pretending to be Gary. Artie is great as always and was talking about how he hates the no commercials b/c he ahd to take a shit.

They also played the uncensored Pat O'Brien tapes. I havent heard them without the bleeps and it was great some of the things he was saying sick but i was cracking up. And then they had different parts of it to different songs like they did when they first played but without the bleeps its great.

I will prollly forget to listen to the replay every now and then but next monday i will b/c they are gonna talk about the revelations they did today. you can go to the website to see what im talking about i dont feel like explaining it. But i know when i get abck to work and im up in the morning im gonna get Sirius b/c sometimes i get tired of the bitching on 610 and i need some comic relief.

Since O&A are off today due to a sickness, I am currently listening to Howard's first show on Sirius. So far its very similar to O&A's first days. They have various technical problems to bitch about but they just seem happy to be there. I must say George Takei is a great addition. Howard's show was getting very stale even with Artie. Takei adds a little something different which Howard hasnt had in forever and I'm liking him a lot. He just doesnt speak all that much.

As for the Pat O'Brien tapes and other random things that happened over the year, the bad thing for Howard (whether he admits it or not) is that he is WAY behind on material. O&A already played the uncensored Pat O'Brien tapes and caller's songs about them almost 8 months ago. That must get under his skin a little that he couldnt be doing this stuff when it was new in the news. And I know whats funny and the way O&A messed with the O'Brien tapes was WAY funnier. And remember I dont hate Stern but I just think O&A blow him away in terms of laughs.

As for satellite radio in general, I'm pretty stoked that its getting to become as popular as it is. I've had it for about a year and a half now and I love it. I havent listened to regular radio since I got it. I do seriously think that most of my friends would dig O&A a lot more than Stern but since its not something they arent used to or familiar with then they dont give it a chance. Most people will get Sirius just for Stern but so far the numbers arent backing that up. (Sirius 3.3 million subs, XM 6.1 million subs). Eventually I do believe the companies may combine but thats a long way off.

Either way good luck to Stern on Sirius because everyone knows competition is what makes a show great. If its a monopoly (like Stern wants) then he could do shitty radio and still be the best thing on. O&A will surely have to step it up now to deal with Stern's HUGE following. I'm excited to see what the coming months bring.

no George Takei is now on his show. The real guy. He's the announcer that introduces them in the beginning and coming back from breaks and stuff.

i think he's just in the studio for the first week.
i think he might be the best part of this one I downloaded.

I thought George Takei passed away! I guess that was Deforest Kelly or Scotty. One of them. I know Scotty passed away.

i think those subscriptions numbers are going to go up. They were talking on the show how more ppl activated Sirius this past weekend then on christmas day so im sure they are going to get a good following. I like O&A but i aslways like stern better when they were on 94.1 together so when it came to which satellite sevice i was gonna get i have to go with Sirius. Plus you get the NFL and Breuer

yeah theres pluses and minuses with each company.
for you.... XM gets the NHL soon and Sirius is totally dropping it.

And as for O&A I just think of them as regular dudes appealing to a younger crowd and thats why I relate to them more. I feel like Stern lost touch with reality when he became a celebrity. Plus Anthony is one of the funniest people alive in my opinion.

oh well, to each his own.

The Stern fans are getting angry.
They expected a totally different show and they are getting basically the same thing on satellite. He proclaimed his show would be revolutionary and change radio forever. Howard even has a dump button still in case someone from a rival radio station tries to call in or someone says something about him that he doesnt like. People are calling him a pussy because he is the one telling David Lee Roth to take on any caller that tries to call in saying he sucks. a little hypocritical.

And people are pissed that he still teases things like he's on commercial free radio and he tries to get people to tune in every day. Satellite doesnt work like that, theres no ratings. he's just angering his fans.

Today he admitted to getting plastic surgery in one of his revelations so people all over his message board, Stern Fans Network, are angry and posting angry messages like crazy.... ITS A REVOLUTION!!

I think you're on a revolution to turn us all into Stern haters. I caught the end of today's show where they revealed all the revelations and I thought it was great. I was laughing nonstop and enjoyed every minute of it. I don't expect a complete overhaul of his show, just hearing it without twenty minutes of commercials is good enough for me.

i'm not trying to make anyone hate stern, thats impossible.
i dont even hate him.
there was a topic about stern on sirius that i created so i figured i would add stuff i read today in case anyone cared.

well i knew it wasnt going to be different. i liked how his show was before he left regular radio. So no matter what when i get my sirius ill tune in every morning b/c its a good show and its funny.Ppl are prolly get mad b/c they jsut want him to be cursing and having anked chicks in all day

dude i think you're alone here with that opinion.
everyone i know has a talk radio show that they love and are basically dedicated to.

if you have the same sense of humor as me then theres no way you could listen to a whole O&A show without crackin up.

Talk Radio is pretty damn lame... David Lee Roth in particular, is crap.

I have given him chances every day since he has started and he just stinks.

The first clue to his show sucking is the fact that he ALWAYS has some kind of music or crappy beat playing in the background. Sometimes, he even interrupts conversations to "turn up" the music. Who does this?

Second, I hate his team of idiots who laugh at all of his nonjokes with their big dumb fake hearty laughs.

However, nothing, and I mean nothing, is worse then The Free Beer and Hot Wings Show. Free Beer and Hot Wings (their names) are the two most unfunny, untalented morons on the face of the planet. And what are the chances of getting three dudes together who all have the same exact voice so you have no idea what so ever who is actually talking? This is another team of idiots who feel the need to laugh at every single joke, as loud as possible, and as long as possible. Even the commercial for their show laughs. You listen to the commercial and it tells you to listen to the show every single morning, followed up by a laugh. They're FORCING you to laugh. This show wants laughs so bad that all it does is laugh.

However, I'm getting by without Stern, it's not a matter of life or death, but it does suck.

Does that star Bob and Tom? Stern was talking about how he listened to them this morning and they sucked horribly. He mentioned they kept playing some fake laugh every 10 seconds.

Mostly all I listen to is talk radio when i'm in my car. I got stern in the mornings in the afternoons I go to WIP to listen to anthony and mike and then breuer on the way into work. Oh yea on the way home I got Big Daddy on WIP. If I listen to music then it has to be a cd or the satellite. I tried listening to regular radio tonight in work and every channel blows. Nothing good was coming on at all. It stinks. On sirius I also listen to the comedy channel alot. Other than breuers show it has clips of all different comedians stand ups. Its hilarious.

no the guys names on the show are Free Beer and Hot Wings.
