Sorry Dante... the night I was going to post what I thought I ended up talking with Steve about it for like a half hour... so I kind of didn't have the desire after that. Haha.

***********
I'm not going to turn my text white, by this point, you shouldn't even be in the thread unless you have read it.
Anyway, like I said, I thought the book was amazing, and I honestly wonder how they're going to pack all of that into a movie. Unlike something like Order of the Phoenix, everything felt important.
The amount of characters that were killed was staggering. Still, it's pretty amazing that even though all these characters were killed, there are still plenty left... the overall scale of the cast in the Potter books is ridiculous.
The last 200 pages, like Steve and Dante said, were awesome. I couldn't put it down. Snape turning out to be the hero (even though I knew it all along) was just awesome. He was the true tragic character of the Potter books. The thing that did surprise is how he knew Lily all along. I kind of assumed he had a thing for her, as he never said anything terrible about Harry's mother throughout all the books, just James. He always seemed to have a love/hate relationship with Harry, with evidence going all the way back to the first book. I just wish he didn't go out the way he did... but Harry busting out the Albus Severus Potter for his child was AWESOME. That kid is blessed with the three most amazing names in the Wizarding World. haha.
Speaking of Dumbledore, I really liked enjoyed the amount of layers that were added to his character. It was really cool finding out that he wasn't the nicest/greatest/wisest person in the entire world, yet at the same time, Rowling was still able to give the guy a lot of integrity. Demi seemed to think less of Dumbledore after the book, where as I tended to like him more.
If there is any character death I was sort of opposed to, it was Lupin. Not even so much that I'm opposed to it... it just kind of sucked that Harry just saw him dead. We didn't get to see him go out like a champ, but I guess that was the idea. Surprisingly, I thought Dobby was the most emotional/sad death in the book. Collin Creevey gets an honorable mention too, just because I picture a little kid with a camera running around. hahaha.
The ending was perfect, I really couldn't have asked for anything more. The 19 years later chapter was a treat, just enough to answer a gazillion questions.
I'm gonna miss Potter, but he sure did go out with a bang.
