he left early saturday morning, actually i think he comes back saturday morning too.
all i know is he'll be home by sometime saturday because he was saying he wanted to go to Iron Moto on saturday night but a couple of us couldnt so we're not now.

new members need to have an email confirmation in order to sign up to the boards, so these guys are pretty tenacious. they really do suck.

They must not even go through it because the email thing has that word recognition confirmation thing too right? Their script must just bypass all of that.

Phil, I asked the admin of wackbag.com since I never see spambots on there and this was his response.

"Use Image Verification - it is also not 100% effective, but its better than just e-mail confirmation alone. If you're using vBulletin, you can also select to "moderate new members" (I think phpBB also has a similar setting) - that basically makes them invisible until a mod or admin can "approve" the user account. We don't use that here, but it is available."

That probably doesnt help since I think you already use image verification, right?
Oh well, I guess wackbag gets hit with spambots too but since they have so many damn mods (because there's thousands and thousands of members) I never see any bots on there casuing a ruckus like they do here.

image recognition software and automatic email verification...
you have to go to pretty drastic measures to keep bots off....

make sure you dissallow all emails with a .ru that will cut down on a lot of them
