Hogan is pretty bad with kids too. Like taking stuff out of their hands when they're walking around with a cookie or something.
And he's definitely a dinner begger.

I just know he's gonna be a huge pain in the ass when this kid comes along.
He's small so he even jumps up on kids in excitement when they come over. And he knocks them down.
And he aggressively licks their faces. So I really have to watch him when kids are over who can't walk really well yet.
Mandy's sisters's kids are 5 now and he's fine with them. But the 18 month old he still gets too crazy with.

I'll just have to teach him as it goes along. I can't do much now when he's not around kids a lot.

Phil how is the thundershirt working out? I think we are going to have to get them for our dogs..one goes apeshit when there are thunderstorms and the other goes apeshit if we arent at home enough. the thunderstorm aversion dog is already on fukin xanex and her fukin metabolism is so high it only lasts like a half hour. we have been home a lot less lately because of the renovations and us moving shit over there and last night we came home to a kitchen full of pillow fluff. my dog likes to tear shit up when she is anxious. so we are pretty concerned about what they are going to do when we move. at this point they are going to be banished to the basement when we are not there...

also phil where did you get yours?

I got the Thundershirt off of their website, but you can get it on Amazon, and if you have Prime you get free shipping.

I don't think the shirt is working out well. The last few times I put it on him he got upset about it and tried to not let me put it on him. I didn't even bother putting it on him this morning. :(

dude snapped at jenna one time a couple years ago. I punched him in the face and he hasnt done it since. Whatever i hit my dog but it works. He ran away when we first got him. Found him like 5 blocks down the street. He got a beating and now he can hang out in the back yard with both gates open and wont go anywhere.

Yeah I'd try it, I mean, it doesn't hurt and it's not expensive. Plus if you order through their site they have a money back thing if it doesn't work.

Do you give Benson something when you eat? We used to gave Bandit a Kong with some peanut butter. Eventually we switched to this kind of cloth cube with a hole in each side (not quite a hole but a little + slit into them. We take a treat and break it into pieces and he has to get it out. It's an effective time killer, especially with a Shih-Tzu since they have a flat face and it take more effort/time to get his face in far enough to grab the treat pieces.

AH man that sucks.

Also this thread reminded me of how much of a douche Benson was last night. I'm sitting in the living room, folding baby clothes, and the girls are off playing. He pulls up right in front of me and just pisses. Son of a bitch did it on purpose. He was in BIG trouble.

dick. my dog is usually good. but she has horrible separation anxiety. so we figured the basement would be fine to keep her in. well first she tore up the door and some of the molding on the door at the top of the steps..so then i put up a barrier at the bottom of the steps, then she chewed into the fukin drywall and into the 2x4 stud itself trying to get around it and hurt herself trying to jump it..so i had no choice but to create a pen. fukin stupid ass animals. who told them they could have emotions and feelings. fukin bullshit.

We got him in July 2008 when he was around 8 weeks old and about 5 pounds. Now he's close to 30 pounds which still isn't much. haha
Its the first thing we did with our wedding money. So every time Hogan turns a certain age, I know that year of my wedding anniversary is coming up a month later.

My dog went blind in one eye a few months ago due to glaucoma.

Just last week she went blind in the other eye. Started freaking out and spinning in circles. She's ok for now, probably going to have her eyes surgically removed soon. I was hoping she'd be able to see my son in a few weeks when we go home for summer break, but I guess she'll just be happy smelling him.

In happier notes, I found a comic based on a dog who texts his master.

Ah man, sorry to hear. That sucks.

That said, why remove the eyes? Is there a reason for that?

It could lead to more infection. We can remove the eyes and either put in prosthetics, or sew them shut.

The prosthetics need to be cleaned every day, so we'd have to take them out and do that. That could lead to even more infection though.

I'd like to have my dog wear a pirate eye patch though...but keeping it on her head would take some work.

Just got back from China last night. Saw my dog. She was very happy, her normal self, except for the fact that she bumps into stuff all of the time now as she's blind. :(

She ran into part of the door as she was coming out to greet us. Bumps around the tables a little bit. But overall, she's very good still.
