I guess I'll have to read it and then go watch it. Emily blasted through the book in 2 days this weekend.

Did you give her a hard time about spending too much time reading this weekend?

Solid troll post Phil.

Also I read Hunger Games made $214mil globally.

So it's already made more profit in one weekend than John Carter is expected to lose

I told my wife about it and she couldn't believe that it was pretty much the same movie.

This is perfect.

It may be stupid, but that's my favorite part of Pulp Fiction.

Saw The Hunger Games last night and it was a meh. I'd say the late middle to the end of the movie was pretty crappy. I started reading the book already and I'll finish that because it's supposed to be much better. I don't think this movie is worth watching again. Battle Royale was so much better.

Oh, and I can't believe there's going to be MORE Twilight. In fact, every trailer was terrible. I guess Spiderman was okay but I'm pretty tired of Spiderman at this point. The Lizard still looked retarded.

It's the last book of course they have to make a movie about it...so at least it's the LAST Twilight, then that shit can go away.

Actually it's the second half of the last book. They pulled a Harry Potter with it.

Not much of an improvement on the first one. Very rushed, only about 90 minutes for a big fantasy film just doesn't cut it. I didn't want it to be 2 and a half hours but it definitely needed a little more time. Just battle after battle, creatures everywhere. That may sound cool but it just did nothing for me. Sure, some cool things to look at but I didn't really care what was happening. And the end was very similar to Clash. I was not impressed.

The Sitter
I forgot I watched this over the weekend. It wasn't that good. A few funny parts here and there but no really laugh out loud moments. Its about Jonah Hill babysitting 3 kids but also he wants to go get laid so he takes them with him on a road trip to the city to meet his girlfriend. Its an R rated Adventures in Babysitting. Like I said, chuckles throughout but nothing really funny. Its from the director of Pineapple Express. Thats two strikes in a row for him. Your Highness and The Sitter. Better have something good coming up next.

March Madness just ended and even though this is about high school basketball I figured I would finally watch it (so I could get Total Recall next). Its one of those classic sports movies that I've never seen. Gene Hackman plays a down in the dirt coach forced to coach high school basketball at a tiny school. Well of course he whips these country boys from Indiana into shape. Montage after montage after montage follows. Seriously, this movie is montage city. And the games are pretty unrealistic. Its just 3 pointers the whole time. But they're mostly white kids so I guess thats what they're good at. Its funny when they get to the State Championship game, its a black team. Moral of the story, you can beat all the white teams you want but shit gets real when the black kids come out to play ball. Anyway, it really is a pretty damn good movie. 80s vibe but set in the 50s. HACK MAN is great as usual.

I really liked the performances from Ben Foster, Dennis Quaid and Cam Gigendet. Not so big on the design of the Hunters. I was kind of expecting something more scary. The beginning had a few jump scares and such when he was climbing through those ducts and a little bit after. But after seeing the Hunters I don't think I even felt slightly scared for the rest of the movie.

I did really like the 2 big twists Payton really being Gallo and it has really been 923 years since the mission started and they are under water I guess that Hypersleep stuff delays aging. Oh also one thing that kind of bothered me is that that gigantic ship managed to be over 99% sunk so massively close to land. Although I suppose this could be because it's some weird new planet, but it still bugged me

Overall it was just alright. Entertaining enough but I don't think I'll ever want to watch it again.

Total Recall

Watched this this weekend. Just as awesome as ever. I love me some classic Arnold. Also, Sharon Stone might be at her hottest in this movie. Granted, I never saw Basic Instinct but she just looks really good in this movie. I'm not even that big of a Sharon Stone fan. One of the things I love the most about this movie is how all you see all these 80's stuff in the "future". One obvious thing is their clothes and hairstyle but you can't really help that. But there are other small things. Like the keyboards they used and the CRT monitors. Also, the old Pepsi logos. You also see these other company logos like Fuji Films. When was the last time you heard about Fuji Films? It's all awesome.

Yeah Sharon Stone was fucking smoking hot. I also loved all that old shit. At least nowadays the futuristic stuff in movies does not look like stuff we currently have.

I don't know, watch today's movies 30 years from now and we'll see what we catch.

I know some things will come up but they had CRT monitors and such in Total Recall while CRT monitors were actually out in real life, but in a modern movie they have things where it looks like a pane of glass as a tv, which we currently do not have.

Even look at Minority Report.

Image

That movie came out 10 years ago and that screen thing still looks futuristic and will still haven't seen anything quite like it. The closest thing is Kinect I suppose.

You know what sells the screens in Minority Report? The gloves. The gloves make it seem like it could be possible. If he just walked up to the screens and was waving his hands around (like Kinect) I bet that moment wouldn't seem as believable. Just a thought.
