Sweet I can't wait to get into that one. I might grab it sometime soon with some gift cards I got for my birf.

Pretty standard third person action game. The game did a good job of making me feel like a gigantic badass.

Neat game.

It's a pretty standard physics based puzzle game where you manipulate certain objects around you to cross gaps or open up paths. The art was really nice and the ambient music was really relaxing.

It's trickyyyy wubwubwubwubwubwub!

I finished up World Tour mode the other night. It's not super long, but it gets you familiar with the different courses, characters, items, etc. The deadly descents are all unique, but some of them are just terrible. The one where you have to keep pressing the button to take oxygen is obnoxious and I hate it. There's still a ton left to do in explore mode, so I'll probably stick with the game for a bit.

wow, that was quick. I thought the game just came out. I just watched the review of it last night. Seems like it's mostly geared towards online play and leader boards. The system seemed pretty cool.

The "story" mode is pretty underwhelming, but only because the idea of story in an SSX game is ridiculous. They have all these comic book style cutscenes that are just painful to watch. I skipped every single FMV/cutscene I came across. After you do that, it's just a matter of beating the different courses. A lot of them are pretty forgiving, only making you place in the top 3. It only took like 5 hours or so.

The explore mode is where it gets difficult. That's where are the time trials / high score runs are. You could spend a lot of time doing that stuff.

Got to play through TMNT again at Bowie's last night. I only wanted to play for a credit worth, but Raph had 128 credits when I buzzed in. I had to be in it for the long haul or else the others wouldn't have been able to finish it.

Decided to try out Alter Ego when I laid the girls down for their nap. I ended up finishing it in about an hour. I'm glad it was so short, but now Celeste is awake and I'm behind on cleaning the kitchen as planned (I had an extra hour of "cleaning" time after I won the game).

Uhh anyway, the game is really cool, and it's free! Seriously dudes, play it and leave some comments about it so we have something to talk about on the show.

Completed the NES version of Alter Ego. It came with the download so I fired it up in an emu. Took like 15 minutes. Some levels are unique to this version, and it was cool seeing it down scaled to the NES complete with NES music. If you're the least bit curious and don't even want to dedicate the hour to play this, do this version!

Phil, I put this in the show notes but you should check out 8-Bit Nights too. It's like a spiritual sequel to Alter Ego. Theres a free demo out there you can play, the whole game is $5. This one has native 360 controller support too.

Quite the retro binge, I've been loving it. Ecclesia was pretty fun, challenging at some parts but it's the first Castlevania I've played in ages. Any suggestions on which one I should play next?

The Simpsons Arcade Game - March 3rd

We used Bowie's arcade machine on Saturday. Had it on hard so it took forever and every boss took a million hits.
But we were successful.

I saw, I should check it out. Also, cool you filled out the notes already. I went in there to do them myself and saw you had a bunch done. I threw in a new note and also a link to the OST.

John, I didn't realize you guys played on hard. I bet every Arcade has that game set to hard.

And Greg, OoE is so good. What CV games have you played?

Yeah man probably would have cost me 50 bucks to beat it in an arcade.

Yeah, I know for a fact I have simpsons set to the hardest difficulty. The screen fills up with bad dudes, and the more players you have the more people fill the screen haha.

OoE, Super Castlevania and most of the original as well... but they're pretty much the same game. It's a pretty short list and I'm ashamed because damnit I love this type of action game.

Oh nice, so you have many options.

I guess the easiest to suggest would be Symphony of the Night. You love Metroid, you liked OoE, so you gotta go with the best of that type of CV game. Plus it's like 10 bucks on Xbox, which I think you own.

If you're up for something in the vein of SCV4 and the original, you should check out 3 (which I think you can get on Wii for 5) or do Rondo of Blood, also on Wii, I forget the price though.

Symphony is amazing. I've played through it so many god damn times. My brother actually yelled at me after he played it recently for the first time, because I hadn't told him about it earlier.
