ok so i figured the point of the podcast was to play games you wouldn't normally play, so i downloaded the demo off of steam and gave it a whirl.

i loved the whole 50's schi-fi vibe, and it may have been the best use of FMV i've seen in that it fit the whole design and motif perfectly. i liked that they went with what looked like real models on strings for the video "news segments". nice touch. the music was fun and up beat. i did find myself getting into it some, however my eyes start glazing over when i see stats and what-nots that need to be upgraded. i also feel that i just sit there and watch events unfold, which is why i don't like twoer defense game in general really so that has nothing to do with this game in particular. again, it did have a a certain draw to it and i found myself getting into it a bit. i liked the mechanic of the orbital rings that you could rotate. that gave me something "to play with" as bad guys come barreling at you.

so i found that i liked it overall, and maybe if i was in to tower defense type games a bit more, i coudl see myself getting into it a bit more.

I played a little bit of it...pretty much just a tower defense game with some entertaining 50's B movie cutscenes.

I just watched a quick video of the game. There's definitely better more fun looking tower defence games in Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2.

I've been doing patching for work the past couple weekends.
I'm finally getting to listen to these podcasts. You guys definitely have a good chemistry and good flow/design around the show.
I'm 8 or 9 episodes in, great job guys.

Wc3 has probably had the best TD games and easily the best custom games for any blizzard series, i seriously dont know why the custom games for starcraft blow so much

Thanks! It's free so you better!

Also, I really wish I found this out a day sooner because WizOrb is now on PC, through Gamersgate for 3 dollars. I've been waiting for WizOrb to hit PC to do it for Game Club. Totally would have been my game this round had I known. That's okay, it'll be my game when it's my turn again. I'm looking forward to it.

that song at the end of the bastion one with the chick singing... is that in the game? That was pretty awesome.
I want to try bastion and abobo now.
started listening to the latest one now... but i just realized the pens game comes on soon so I'll have to hold it for later.

good show guys. i actually really like the youtube version. its a good addition so that we can see exactly what you guys are talking about, and it also keeps randy (or whever is playing it at the time) in the conversation. it's a nice addition to just the audio one for those of us that generally listen on our computers while we work.

yes yes, i have very poor typing skills hah.

forgot about this. i nabbed the freebie version off their site and am playing it here and there on my desktop in the NES emulator. for some reason, i had trouble grasping the concept at first. i dont know why. like i knew what i had to do, but my brain just wasn't in gear. i don't blame the game for this. i blame my stupid self. i think it was because i was expecting my alter ego to actually do something when he really doesn't other than serve as a warping spot. (though he can collect stuff later)

it's fun. i guess thats all i can really say about it. its very similar in concept to portal minus any of the momentum puzzles (such as jumping to your death to that you can be spit out of a second portal to vault across a pit), but there are similar type moments present.

the music is fun and catchy. one thing i thought about while playing was, if this came out during the NES hayday, would it be a justified purchase at 50 beans? answer is no, because it doesn't offer anything more than its one trick or swapping with an invisible guy. for the incredible price of free its a blast. i think it could also stand to be priced at a dollar or 2. no more than three. hah
