its just another step in an already terrible process. even rape victims would have to do it. im not some super pro choice person or anything. i just think that what you do with your own body needs to have nothing to do with the government. i would rather people get abortions then bring more stupid fukin mouthbreathers into this world.

What's wrong with having to look at it? It could change someone's mind. There is this disconnect when you can't see what's going on in there, but like Frank said, the moment you see it, things change.

Listen I'm not saying that no one should ever be "allowed" to get an abortion, I can't imagine what it's like to be in everyone's shoes. But people should have to be responsible for their actions, and if being shown something is part of that, so be it.

edit: And Russ brings up a good point, maybe they need to look in there to make sure it's even safe for the mother to go through.

I do wish there was a way to control who could have babies. It would solve a lot of issues, but Irate, that would be a government run thing, would you support it?

I agree that if you just accidentally got pregnant, it should be your responsibility to pay for your abortion. If it is a rape baby I have no issue with the government of whoever paying for it. If it is due to a failure in birth control then the company should pay for it.

Also for the ultrasound thing, I get the logic behind it, but I do not agree with it. You are forcing someone to do something that they do not want to do, and in that situation that ultrasound should be covered for you. Also the fact that the potential ultrasound law applies to rape victims is cruel.

you have to pay for your abortion no matter what. its at least $500. If you have insurance you can usually go to nicer places. But thats about it. there is no govt funded abortion. they give money to organizations like planned parenthood who do abortions for lower income people. but its never free.

I wasn't sure, up here they are paid for by medicare unless you go to a private clinic.

They do the ultrasound for medical reasons. Not because they just feel like utrasounding your uterus. I don't see the point in government regulating that but then again, I don't have all the information.

I understand doing an ultrasound for the safety of the woman but how can you force someone to look at it? Like "Ma'am you legally have to turn your head to view this image."

I dont think the Cartoon is just for ultrasound I think its about how consumed the GOP is with the female reproductive system in general be it Abortion, Birth Control, etc.
