Kiefer Sutherland will be coming back to FOX in the spring.
They just picked up his new show which was created and written by Tim Kring (Heroes).

The series revolves around dad Martin (Sutherland) who comes to the realization that his mute autistic son Jake (David Mazouz) has an extraordinary ability to pick up patterns between seemingly unrelated events. Using numbers, Martin must communicate with his son in order to uncover the true meaning behind the mysterious connections.
In addition to Sutherland and Mazouz, Touch also stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Undercovers) as a helpful social worker and Danny Glover as an academic and expert on gifted children. Francis Lawrence (Water for Elephants, I Am Legend) directed and executive produced the pilot, which was shot over the summer.

of course, it being keifer, i'm going to check it out.

it sounds pretty terrible and throwing it in as a spring debut doesnt sound promising.
but i'll at least give it a shot. Heroes was great in the beginning and of course Kiefer is the man. So I have some faith.

this worries me like EJO on Dexter worries me. I don't want to cheapen my view of a hero because of shitty writers and bad directing.

This show has a special preview tonight at 9. The pilot is airing 2 months before the show is actually set to start (March 19th).
I don't know if thats a good sign or a bad sign. Probably bad. Its getting a shitload of ad time on FOX though.

I have DVR set for tonight but my expectations are very low.

I feel like if they're willing to show it that far in advance they must think highly of it. Why show something awful so early if they think people are going to bail? Maybe they want word of mouth to spread.

But yeah, I don't care about it.

The first episode was good. You can definitely see the Heroes type influence since its the same creator.
But I don't know how I feel about it as a series. Like each week, there's just some puzzle Keifer has to figure out?
I don't know if its leading anywhere or not.

There were a lot of connections going on. It was actually really cool to see them all come together.
The part with the young Arab kid and the bomb was the dumbest part.
I really liked how the guy's phone traveled the world and eventually was right next to him and he didn't know it.

And a nice appearance from the Man in Black. And a good connection with him in the end.

I'll definitely watch more of the show but if its one of those shows like CSI where every week is just a new story and no characters or stories are connected then I'll eventually get bored.

it was ok. i mean it had its moments, but on the whole i felt like it was a lot of nothing going on in it. i felt like keifer was half playing jack half playing a new character. like, he was constantly out of breath as if he just got done diffusing 10 bombs and killing a truck load of terrorists. it promise though so i think we'll try to hang with it when it comes back on.

I think this show could borrow a bit from Flash Forward (anyone else remember that show?!) with all of the connections between people.

Tim Kring also seems to be putting his Heroes touch on this show, which would kill a success after 3-4 seasons.

I wonder if Man in Black will be a main character.

This returns tonight with a new episode.
I'm still going to watch but I have a feeling its going to be like those new shows Alcatraz and Awake where I don't really care much about it.

I've surprisingly kept up with Touch so far. Granted it's only been 3 episodes, but it has pegged my interest.

The connections from all around the world have been pretty interesting so far. You think that people are going to do something bad (such as break into a small computer room in the middle of a village in Africa) and really they just want to show the world something different (dancing in a battle on the internets).

So far there hasn't been any real villains in the show. It only cares about connections. I can appreciate that.

This got renewed for Season 2. Its actually a pretty good show.
Each episode is a little different but there are some connections from ep to ep.
The theme song is rockin.
