Dude, that scene in the last episode where Louie is checking out the occupied house and he sees the hobo switch down below...I don't even know what to say, hahaha. I love the weirdness.

EMMY NOMINATED ACTOR LOUIS CK IN TONIGHTS EPISODE....

TONIGHT JULY 14TH AT 10:30PM EST ON FX
Joan
Louie has a rough show in Atlantic City, but he does get some career advice from Joan Rivers (playing herself), who's appearing at the same casino. "What we do is a calling," she tells him. "We make people happy." Louie's stand-up topics include intestinal distress and casino gambling's downsides.

Renewed for Season 3. That is awesome news.
Congrats to Louis CK because he's one funny motherfucker and I'm glad his show is taking off unlike his last one, Lucky Louie.

Yeah, some good shit in there. I didn't know he edited the show by himself though. That's pretty awesome.

Thats pretty awesome that he was so honest about all the costs and profits, not many people have the balls to do that. It's always nice to see someone that "gets it" when it comes to using the Internet as a way to promote yourself without being a shit-head.

Louie made over a million off of his self released comedy show in 12 days. And he's giving a lot to charity and the staff of his show bonuses.
Stand up dude is right!

from joblo.com
Quote:
Louis CK has achieved the impossible- he's released a film on the internet and people have paid money for it.

Of course, it helps that he's perhaps the hottest comedian alive right now, coming off the success of his ground-breaking (feel like it's fair to use that term) show "Louie" and a couple of incredible stand-up shows. Rather than go to HBO for another special Louis decided to produce his own show out of pocket, directing, editing and releasing it himself, and so we have Louis CK: Live at the Beacon Theater. Louie CK took to his website to sell the show DRM-free for a mere five bucks, and while it went to torrent sites as expected the majority of people decided to pay for it.

200,000 people, at least. 12 days after release, this is what his paypal account looked like.

Image

Unlike the majority of us who would just spend the money on themselves, he's decided to give a huge amount of it away- giving bonuses to the staff of "Louie" and a bunch of great charities. You can read his plans for the cash here. https://buy.louisck.net/news The man really doesn't have to explain what he's doing with his money- he earned it, after all- but he apparently has been so thrown off by this that it's made him a little uncomfortable.

Anyway, congrats to Louie, and let's hope his dream of releasing further material (albums, videos, as well as tickets to his shows) comes true.

and here's directly from his site in case you dont click the link.

Quote:
hi. So it's been about 12 days since the thing started and yesterday we hit the crazy number. One million dollars. That's a lot of money. Really too much money. I've never had a million dollars all of a sudden. and since we're all sharing this experience and since it's really your money, I wanted to let you know what I'm doing with it. People are paying attention to what's going on with this thing. So I guess I want to set an example of what you can do if you all of a sudden have a million dollars that people just gave to you directly because you told jokes.

So I'm breaking the million into four pieces.

the first 250k is going to pay back what the special cost to produce and the website to build.

The second 250k is going back to my staff and the people who work for me on the special and on my show. I'm giving them a big fat bonus.

The third 280k is going to a few different charities. They are listed below in case you'd like to donate to them also. Some of these i learned about through friends, some were reccomended through twitter.

The Fistula Foundation
The Pablove Foundation
charity: water
Kiva
Green Chimneys

That leaves me with 220k for myself. Some of that will pay my rent and will care for my childen. The rest I will do terrible, horrible things with and none of that is any of your business. In any case, to me, 220k is enough out of a million.

I never viewed money as being "my money" I always saw it as "The money" It's a resource. if it pools up around me then it needs to be flushed back out into the system.

The thing is still on sale. I hope folks keep buying it. If I make another million, I'll give more of it away. I'll let you know when that happens because I like you getting to know what happened to your 5 dollars and bringing awareness to the bla bla bla.

Okay I really gotta go now. Thank you again. I will now stop bugging you. I really hate being in the news this much so I'm gonna just disappear for a while.

Happy hollidays.
Louis C.K.

That actually makes me want to go ahead and drop the 5 bucks on it, even though I have no interest in it. Its nice to see people that aren't just looking out for themselves.
