thats bullshit shibbs, you need to call customer retention. when you call just select the option "thinking of changing or discontinuing your service". if you dont like the answer the first person gives you ang up and try again. i have 2 HD boxes, 12mb interwebs and i only pay like 86$. i only have the basic tv package, but i don't need any of that other shit anyways. fuck comcasts phone service, that shit is a scam.

yeah i feel like since i got back on comcast's dick last month, i've been paying like 200 every month. i hate them.

You guys in the east don't have verizon packages? it's like 100 for everything including fios and all those channels you don't need.

So I just dropped my voice and tv altogether and went with 3Mbs internet. It's still $40 the fucking ass rapers.

BTW, the tv deals that DirecTV has right now are ridonkulous.... 2 HD recievers, free installation, free NFL Ticket, and a shitload of channels for $35/mo for 1 year. Whole home dvr is $10 more, but I only have 2 tv's, so screw it. After that its $60, which would still work out cheaper than comcast.

They never told me about a cap, but I think comcast is 250G.

To go from 3-6M it was a $10 jump. 6-12M was another $10.
They have 0 competition. The only thing else out there is centurylink, which only offers a 1.5M speed in my area and REQUIRES that I get phone through them too just to get internet.

I forget my download speed, maybe 9mbs or something, but we pay $40 per month and I get 60gb of downloads and I tear through it.

I just looked into it... the bastards want to make me pay another $12/mo for FSN Pittsburgh. Even though they're a regional team, it doesn't come included in anything except the premium package or by ordering their sports pack.

I'll just have to look into hockeystreams.com a little more. Hockey is really the only thing I'm concerned about. Sure theres other things I enjoy watching, but I'll get by without them.

Same here, the internet has been going out for no reason the last few days and now they are coming by to replace the router. If it acts up again, all hell will break loose.

so here's my comcast epic. i'm still undecided what to do with the service as i'm not entirely sold on fios.

so back in april. i cancelled my old account with them when i moved out of my condo. i didn't have time to return the equipment, so i asked them to send me shipping materials. i spent a month and half in brooklyn until our house was ready to move in to back in NJ. the equipment sat in my car waiting to be delivered, but they never sent the shipping materials and i forgot about it.

in late june, we moved in and i got a new account open with them. i go to the nearest location for them to drop off the old equipment and the guy there goes "hmm looks like the charged your account for the equipmet". im like "well, here it is. please take it off." theoretically, he does.

a few weks later i get a letter from a collection agency for it. i call comcast on july 7th and say "what the hell is up with this? i returned the old equipment". the douche operator on the phone goes "ahh yes, ok i see. i'll take that off your old account then. however, there is an 86 dollar pro-rated amount due for your service there". i agree to it. totally aceptable that i pay my balance. i give him my credit card and i pay it. or at least i think i do.

another month later, i get a second letter from the collection agency asking me for that 86 beans, and that my credit rating is now taking a hit. i kind of get pissed and call comcast asking about it. this second operator goes, "hmm...i see your old account and you dont owe anything on it. your balance is zero." i hang up and the next day i call the collection agency askig what's up with this letter. he claims that comcast still has me on record of not having paid the bill. after one or two conversations with him over a week or two, comcast still has not updated it. he actually was able to look into their system and saw for himself some kind of balance due. or at least thats what he told me.

i call comcast again, this time livid. i gave the guy on the phone an earful. we are now in late august. he tells me that my payment back in july to them went towards my new account (which i am not sure it did), and i tell him that i will pay it AGAIN. i stressed that he will put it towards the old account to zero it out and to notify the collection agency. he said he did.

the following week i call the collection agency. he says that comcast is still looking for hte 80 dollars. i am now enraged and he basically hangs up on me. i call back comcast and i hear on the computer voice that a payment of 80 dollars was applied to my NEW ACCOUNT the week prior. they once again did NOT properly credit the payment. i then ask for a supervisor. im on hold for like 10 min when he comes back on saying one will be wiht me in a few min. i said if a supervisor does not come on the line immediately, i am leaving their service. he puts me on hold again and i hang up.

i then call the collection agency again and pay THEM ANOTHER 80 DOLLARS.

so now i dont know what to do. comcast can fucking suck dog's dick, but their HD channels are better than FIOS's from what i can see.

i fucking hate comcast. they're fucking crooks and incompetent.

whenever you call comcast, always ask for customer retention. i would call them now. try to stay calm and explain the whole situation. those guys get full access to pretty much every part of the system. you should also make sure to keep on the collection agency to have them take that shit off of your credit report. sorry for the trouble man, i had to basically give up on autopay because they kept fucking up my credit card. i had to cancel my credit card again just to set it right. now i just have to remember to pay monthly. they have really gotten terrible..but fios isnt even available here so I have no choice as far as internet is concerned. totally sucks and honestly, it is kind of a monopoly, cause only one cable company can serve certain areas..so there is no competition..i would have to go to dish, which i am NOT going to do.

I got around that. They insisted someone had to come out to activate my account. Long story short, I ended activating it myself without any of their help and they were willing to forgo the charge. I think it was bullshit they told me someone HAD to come out when obviously I proved to them they did not.

they did the same thing to me when i was setting up a friends network. i called one day and they said they couldn't ship anything and that it had to be installed by a service technician. then i called back again and got a different person who said they could ship it and there would be no activation charge. if you don't like the answer you get form one, hang up and call back.

i was just THIS CLOSE to turning these fucking crooks in for fraud. more later.

So, please read up on my saga earlier in this thread if you want. It's on going.

I was checking my VISA statements, and I see that comcast charged my credit card for the exact same amount that they were going after me for during the summer on oct 19th. i did not authorize this payment. i just so happened to come acorss it. my bullshit meter instantly goes off. i call today and first see if this charge was put against my current balance. it was. i only owe like 50 bucks on my balance this month. still, i want to know why this happened since i never once told them to do so. the lady on the phone cannot give me an answer. clearly, my records are up there in front of her, so she decides to check into my "old account" (see previous posts) and finds that i now owe 6 dollars on it.

i am instantly enraged.

i now threaten to sue them for credit card fraud since i did not authorize the payment made on the 19th, and to turn them in to the BBB because the old account SHOULD have been totally settled. she puts me through to her manager almost immediately after i say this. the manager fually gets her ass on the phone and says that the 6 dollars on my old account was from making a payment over the phone by credit card. i am besides ymself. first, this was NEVER explained to me in the 15 times i tried to settle this during the summer. i was just made aware of it 20 min ago. second, if this is the case, and i get charged for it, why the fuck didnt they just add the charge to the fucking payment?? her answer was that they would bill me again for the charge...WHAT. then i ask how am i supposed ot know that i owed this money? i never got a bill for it. just so they can turn it back over to the collection agency again? she has no answer.

then i ask about the credit charge. she says that i must've set it up that way and that comcast never does that. she looks into and sees that i do not have this setup. comcast automaticlly took funds out of my credit card without my knowledge. she says i need more facts, and that i should contact my credit card to see how and why it happened. pasing the buck. i am now yelling at the phone and am close to a corronary. i make her dismiss the 6 dollars on my old account and to FUCKING CLOSE IT like shouldve been done back in july. again, this has nothign to do with 6 dollars. i want to pay my debts. but it just never ends and goes in circles with these assholes.

so i call my credit card to cover my bases. and of course, she just sees a charge. i say i did not authorize it. she then asks if i want to mark it as fruad and to involve the police. i give it serious thought. in the long run, i am not interesed in persuing a law suit as the charge did indeed go against my bill. however i decide to change my card number because frankly i did not care for that type of behavior.

i think that offically puts the final nail in the coffen for comcast for me. unless they give me a year of free access or something. those guys are fucking assholes and should rot in hell.
