I'm not excited about hand helds period. The only thing on them that I remotely care about is Pokemon. I care about the Veeta even less than the 3DS because i see no reason to play an inferior version of a game I would get on PS3 and I don't see too many interesting games that aren't just the portable version of a PS3 game. It's not like I ever play handhelds outside of my house unless I'm on some kind of road trip.

Yeah, the vita graphics are amazing, but if i want to play uncharted i'll play it on my ps3. with the 3ds i can just pop mario in and not care about storyline.

I hope that the Wii U will be good. I was impressed with what I saw of it today. Then again, I was streaming that shit live from Gamespot after work today in Egypt, so I think that inflated my excitedness.

By the way am I the only one who finds it funny how playstation is 2 sticks on the bottom, Dpad and 4 buttons up top, Xbox is 1 stick top, 1 bottom, Dpad bottom, 4 buttons up top, and now Wii U is 2 stick up top and Dpad + 4 buttons on the bottom?

Also I just noticed something. It looks like the Wii U controller only has 2 trigger and no L1R1/bumpers? A lot of these 3rd party games they're getting use those pretty heavily. Thoughts?

This. The iPad has 1 button, the power on/off button. (I think)

Just for an example lets say MW3 comes to Wii U. In COD you throw grenades/special grenades with the bumpers. This makes it so you can adjust your aim/keep moving while throwing grenades. If the answer to that is touch screen that's lame. You can't have a thumb on each stick and hold a finger on the screen to cook a grenade...

It's not so much first party stuff I'm talking about. More so all these 3rd party games, especially FPSs.

i dont get what the problem is, there's 4 triggers total, well there's an l & r, then 2 triggers.

That was kind of my question (although I didn't really phrase it as a question lol) are there 4 triggers (or buttons placed like triggers)? Becuase from that E3 footage it only looked like 2

Okay cool, i guess I just missed them.

also those triggers look kind of weird. It looks like a sloped button.

Also noticed that the analog sticks are larger slide pads like what the 3DS is sporting. Pretty interesting.

All I know is, people are going nuts and either most hate it or some see the possibilities. This says to me that Nintendo's magic is once again working. That's generally how it rolls.

yeah i'm impressed, I'm with phil on the either hate it or love it thing. People are just complaining that the graphics aren't as good as final fantasy or white knight or some shit. It's nintendo, they've proven through first party that you can sell without great graphics, having the graphics there just makes it that much better, you can't compare nintendo to sony or microsoft, totally different things. Though you can pretty much compare sony and microsoft.

I just watched that too.

http://www.1up.com/news/e3-quick-zelda-high-definition

Looks very cool. Not sure why anyone would bitch about the graphics, we technically havent seen shit from it. It'll obviously be PS3 level, but I guess that is where the issue lies. I totally see a future of tons of ports for a year or two and complete abandonment from third parties right after that once Xbox U and PS3 U (har har) arrive. None of their games will make great use of the tablet and they'll move onto the next graphical beast because thats apparently all developers are interested in.

I feel like nobody should bitch about graphics on a nintendo console after seeing that, if that is what it can run at for gameplay, there was a pretty large difference between say a ps3 and wii, but this isn't a large step down anymore.

The problem is, next year when MS and Sony do their new consoles (they have to now, the next gen card has been played and has officially started) is that Wii U will look out dated. Maybe. Anything can change which is why I dont think they went into the console itself. Specs are probably still being ironed out. Like I said, this E3 was about the possibilities. Next year is the blow out. Things can change.

They'll be better i'm sure, but I don't know much. That zelda game looks freaking amazing. Maybe it's just the nintendo magic showing that they kick everyone's ass when it comes to stylized games.

Oh and word is that the 3rd party stuff shown during the Nintendo presser wasn't even running on the actual hardware. I think it was 360 footage. Who knows what 3rd party games will actually look like running on it.

And this is why I might wind up really hating on Nintendo. I would have been fine with new consoles coming out in like 2014. At the same time there have been what? 6 Call of Duty's on the 360?

I don't even care if in a few years the WiiU is underpowered. Imagine an HD Okami game where you could play it like the DS version. I've wanted some serious DS-Wii connectivity for a while, and this thing delivers that type of experience and more.

I'm already sold.

yeah, I don't think sony or microsoft should push for another console this year, why would you buy it? what's the point? OOOH it can run better graphics. Barely.
