He hasn't made an update yet. Why don't you just do it right now? People need to get on art Tuesdays. Seriously.

Yeah I'm delaying this a night so people have an extra day. I'm seriously about to fall asleep. I had a rough night. Dem was stuck in traffic for over 2 hours so I had to walk the babies from the sitters house, and then take care of the changing feeding by myself, and then they had bath time (but Dem was around by that point to help). I'm just done. No way I'm cranking out decent drawings and putting everything together tonight (usually takes about 2 hours to do the whole thing each week).

Sorry about the delay.

BTW I'm just holding off on this until next Tuesday now. Just giving the heads up.

Pretty much took an off week from Shamoozal after getting the podcast up there.

Yeah, I don't like drawing hands.

Fun while it lasted though.

So basically, everyone on the smorg is lazy. LAZY! Well I'm going to keep doing it as long as the assignments keep coming. Maybe more people will participate on my sheer will power alone. I thought it was 60 seconds per hand, not 30. I definitely went over 30. Hell, I might have even gone slightly over 60 seconds. I look at it this way, I could be spending the time sitting there watching TV or I could work on something to better myself, do something different to challenge myself. Even if my work isn't something of a master piece, it still feels rewarding looking back at the work you put into it.

You should hand write all your posts out in beautiful calligraphy and post pictures of the paper.

Good way of thinking about it. I'll try and do a still life sometime this week as well.

And yes, I should have doubled checked, it was 60 seconds per hand! I don't know why I wrote 30 seconds there... I even spent 60 second a hand because I just chose a 3 minute music track and just did them over the duration of it. I'll correct it.

Here's my "electronic"...

I figured this was a little more interesting to draw than say my remote control.

Cool man, I like it. I guess you just got a screen off the net?

Not that you can do it wrong because AT doesn't really exist anymore, but I chose an electronic device for a still life. I wanted to stay away from using images, but that's cool.

I'll try and do a robot too. I have one in mind actually!

As far as the somebody choosing something to draw and everyone drawing it goes, im not sure if thats still going on or not. if it isn't I'd love for someone to start that up again.

since I wasn't around for the initial start of it, I think I'm going to start from the beginning and work my way to the last one and post my stuff here.

Come up with an idea. I'll do it.

Ok, using the concept of chiaroscuro, literally meaning light dark. it's basically using extreme contrast of lights and darks as opposed to easing in any shadows.

Image

This is an example of an object with light hitting it. I probably should reference a manga but the guy who draws bleach is a master of chiaroscuro so here's a more extreme concept being used.

Image

So the assignment this week is to grab an object, or a part of a body, and create a composition you can draw from that has a very dark dark, and a good highlight. It can be a face or a box it's up to you.
