I can't believe in Dance Masters its the same songs that have been in DDR for the last 15 years. Unreal. Konami needs to figure out how to better localize their music games. There is no way anyone would buy Dance Masters over the other dance game unless they were a complete Japan-o-phile.

And I love that Kinect video. I want more of those.

HAHAHAHA how is that considered dancing?! I guess it needs to be on expert mode to start to look like real dancing?

They'd need to change a lot more than just the music to make it less japanese.

I guess, but they've done that with other Bemani games before (IIDX and DDR) and I don't think it made much of a positive difference. I know for a fact that IIDX probably did worse than it could have because they tried to make the soundtrack too american friendly. Some games are just fucked up and japanese, and that's part of the allure.

Yeah, I think it's more for those hard core DDR fans. Good ole Naoki.

I got Red Dead Redemption from gamefly with the intent of buying the zombie DLC with my bing points, but I think I'll just wait and rent the disc version when that comes out. I've wanted to change my XBL name for awhile now, so I think I'll just use my free points on that.

I was over at Emily's sister's boyfriend's place this weekend and he just got Kinect's Dance Central (Not Dance Masters). We all got to try it. It was actually really fun. You do actually feel like you're dancing in the game and they teach you a plethora of dance moves each with their own goofy names (they might be the actual real names of these moves and I just don't know it) that are fun to laugh at. I'll tell you what, you get a pretty good work out when playing this game. Much more so than DDR I feel because you're actually moving your entire body and really dancing. The best part of the game is probably when you do "Free Style" where you can just dance at your feel will and it will record you and play back a 5 second clip of you dancing in a fast play back type deal. It looks really funny. Over all, the game is a lot of fun, especially for a party type situation. The camera worked a lot better than I had expected. Even when the room was pretty dim, it picked up the person pretty well. I guess it just doesn't work if it's completely dark.

My only criticism would have to be that the view of the camera is kind of limited and only one person can "play" at a time. The only 2 player mode was Dance Battle mode. In this mode, you take turns dancing. I guess that's pretty much your "Bring It On" type style dance battle. I'd like to see a mode where you can dance together. But I don't think the camera or software is smart enough to pick up 2 people dancing simultaneously. Never the less, it's still fun watching people dancing and you can dance in the background if you choose. But people will get sufficiently tired where they will want to sit out and take breaks so the limited amount of players playing at the same time isn't a HUGE factor.

Cool.

I saw people using Kinect at Best Buy this weekend and they were playing the ping pong on one of the sports packages. The camera was much smaller than I thought it would be. It was pretty neat. I did notice a lag between the avatar and the player, but it mimicked his movements well over all. This thing will probably be pretty huge this Christmas.

We didn't play any other games but the dance game. Maybe next time when I'm over. He did just get the sports game too. In fact, it arrived at his house from Amazon while we were over.

I highly recommend people try out the dance game if they have a chance. The hardest I did was on medium and I got kind of winded just doing one song. It might get easier as you remember the moves for each song though. It probably gets pretty out of control on hard. I guess I have a whole new appreciation for all those choreograph dancers now. If the game becomes popular enough, I'd imagine they would have plenty of DLC for it as people will definitely want new songs to dance to.

We went to Best Buy and Ikea yesterday in Philly and saw the Kinect station in best buy with Dance Central and it had a huge line to play so I didnt bother. However when we went to Ikea afterwards this girl was walking around with a Best Buy bag and a Kinect in it so I guess it sold her.

Not going to lie, in a few months I'm probably going to buy a kinect. I just hope they get some sweet games for it.

Has anyone seen anything about that Star Wars game for Kinect yet?

Star Wars game isn't due until next holiday season, and, it's probably going to be rough. Maybe.

I don't know of anything coming for Kinect outside of the launch games and that game Child of Eden.

I doubt Baltar or any of us would actually want the dance game outside of just checking it out.
