You mean your Xbox account? You need to wait for them to send you an email with codes to redeem the points. It'll take like a week.

You can get 200 MS points by signing up for Bing Rewards for free. I saw it on GAF and was bored here the other day and gave it a shot. It's sort of a pain, but whatever.

So sign up for Bing Rewards here http://www.bing.com/rewards

It'll make you install a Bing toolbar on IE, but then it automatically gives you 250 points, 200 of which you can redeem for 100 MS points each. It's sort of stupid how you need to split it up and get two sets of 100, but whatever. So you redeem your reward and you wait and eventually it comes through in your email (mine took almost a week, got them today).

You can obviously earn more for using the search function in the Bing toolbar, but to stop people from grinding out points every single day I think there is like a 16 point limit per day.

Thought I'd pass it along. Then you guys can buy Treasure Treasure and Hypership for free!

Pro tips:

1) Uninstall Bing Bar
2) Sign up for new hotmail account
3) Reinstall Bing Bar and login with new account
4) Get 250 points.

You can use the 100pt XBL codes on whatever account you want, if that's what you're asking.

People will always find a way to cheat the system!

I'll tell you what though, the Bing bar is pretty clutch. I had 400 points because of it and only needed to buy 400 more points so I could download Meat Boy. I have another 100 points due in my email any day now too. I just do those weekly free points and that gets you close to 100 right there.

There's demos of Criterion's Need for Speed and 'Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom' on XBL. Not sure about PSN.

I liked Majin quite a bit, actually. Controls well, and seems like there'll could be some good variety in it.

Need for Speed, I guess I can't really judge fairly. I just want it to control like Burnout, but it's all weighty and slower. Not into it.

I did some house-cleaning on my XBL Friend list yesterday. Went from about 85 people down to 40. Most of them were people from gaming communities I haven't visited in 3-4 years. I only kept people I know in RL, people from Shamoozal and a couple friends from my WoW guild. Looks nice and clean now.

Update today!

The new avatar proportions can look so weird. I made my ultra white dude as tall and skinny as possible and he looks like a monster, hahaha. The dashboard itself seems a little faster, but its still an ad infested turd. The pop-up dashboard you use in game seems a tiny bit slower, but is mostly the same.

From what I saw in the GB quick look of it I was not impressed. I remember hating the new pop up guide so much. Something about the white + sharp edges.

Apparently there's a clearer audio codec for voice chat in this update. I haven't talked to anyone yet, but that's cool.

Kinect came out. I'm assuming it's a flop? Was Move a flop? I don't see the point in getting Kinect with no game support from actually fun games.

Not sure how you're under the impression that it flopped within 12 hours. It has an entire holiday season to prove itself.

Kinect will not flop, at least not this holiday season. Where it goes from there is up in the air. Of course it'll do well this Christmas. It's going to absolutely beast Move. I've seen ads for it every single night over the last week or two. The marketing is pretty unreal. People are really going to fall for the whole "You are the controller" marketing. It's great marketing, but people not in the know don't realize that if you're really the controller that the types of games they'll be playing will be rather limited. It's going to have the same type of "sort of a lie" deal that Wii suffered through. Everyone thought (me included) the Wii remote was this magical device capable of sensing every freaking move in the world, when all it really does is detect a few simple commands. Kinect is likely doing the same thing. It appears to be this magical device that reads your entire body and everything you do, but it's really only going to be good at a few simple commands (from what I'm gathering anyway). So word of mouth will play a large role in this (though that didn't stop Wii from gaining momentum so you never really know).

Dance Central has the ability to be huge. Just Dance has resurrected the dancing genre that Konami failed to improve after all these years of DDR. Dance Central appears to be the real deal, though I'm curious if people will be willing to spend 150 dollars on a device to play DC when they can just buy JD2 or Michael Jackson for 50 bucks on a system they most likely already own.

Going through Kohler's Kinect hardware review and impressions.

http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2010/11/r ... nect/all/1

These lines stood out to me

Quote:
Let’s get the biggest problem out of the way first: Direct sunlight on your body kills
Kinect. Sunshine doesn’t make the controller slightly less accurate — it completely obliterates the sensor’s ability to see you. I was rocking out to Lady Gaga in Harmonix’s excellent Kinect launch title Dance Central, but as soon as the sun streamed in through my west-facing windows that afternoon, the game couldn’t read my poker face — or my poker arms or poker legs, for that matter.

Quote:
Simply pausing a videogame, which is always done by holding your right hand straight down and your left hand at a 45-degree angle, takes about four seconds.

Quote:
Bowling in Kinect Sports presents the same problem. The Wii version of bowling is markedly superior for one reason — you hold down a button when you’re holding the ball, and release it to let it go. The accelerometer does the fuzzy stuff, tracking the swing of your arm, but the button reports when, exactly, you release the ball.

Also looked at a thread on GAF that's gathering all the reviews they can of the launch games from all the different sources. Some pretty low numbers across the board with only a handful of games that appear to be stand outs (Kinectimals, Sports, and Dance Central).
