We have threads for every other type of reviews, but not for concerts. Now we do.

I went to Uproar Tour last weekend.
2nd Stage:
Hail the Villain
New Medicine
Airborne
Hellyeah

Main Stage:
Halestorm
Stone Sour
Avenged Sevenfold
Disturbed

Amazing fucking show for $30. I have no idea why they had 2 stages though, the 2nd stage started at 3:30 and ended at 6:30. Main stage started at 6:45. No reason they couldn't do it on 1 stage, but it worked out better for me. I just got cheap lawn seats and the 2nd stage didn't have any seats so I could get as close as I wanted.
The first 3 bands were decent, but airborne sounds way too much like AC/DC. New Medicine had a RATM feel too them and Hail the Villain was an ok metal band.
Hellyeah (made up of guys from Pantera and Mudvayne) was outstanding. I was 15 ft from the stage, right in the middle of the pit. They rocked. Hard.
Halestorm rocked 10 times harder than they do on their cd, they sounded fantastic live.
Stone Sour was ok. I'm not a big fan of theirs, but they did actually throw down 3 of 4 good jams.
A7X was actually pretty theatrical. The show started with a body dropping from the rafters in a noose. They were really good live too, but I spent a lot of time moshing/breaking up fights during the show so I didn't see a lot of the stage.
Disturbed rocked my face off. I was really expecting the other bands to outshine them, but they really threw down. This was the first time I've seen them live and they didn't disappoint. They only played 1 song off their new album i think. They did a really good job of mixing a lot of the old song together, like they'd go into the chorus then break into a verse of a different song.

It was a great fucking show. 9/10.

They do 2 stages because they want to get the small concert atmosphere for some of the smaller bands. The big crowds sometimes don't come in for the beginning of the show so the main stage with no crowd would look weak. I go to Ozzfest every year and Mayhem Fest occasionally. Ozzfest used to have THREE stages. It was insane. Just constant music.

I just saw Motley Crue and Ozzy Osbourne a couple weeks ago. I like a few Crue songs but wouldn't call myself a big fan. I just wanted to be able to see them live once. They were really good. Vince Neil still has killer 80s metal pipes. That dude can still hit the notes.
Ozzy still has an awesome show. His voice isnt what it used to be but the guy is pushing 60 so I didnt expect him to be in his prime. He still knows how to entertain though. It was one of his better performances over the dozen times I've seen him perform. I hope he continues to come back every summer.

That makes sense. I've been to shows with 3 stages before and they always had bands playing at the same time, so thats what I thought this would be. I was just kind of (pleasantly) surprised they played all 2nd stage, then all main stage.

Good thread by the way. I'm always up for reviewing things. haha But who knows if any others will participate. My next concert is Alice In Chains, Deftones and Mastodon on September 25th.

Wish I could have seen Ax7, good to see they're still touring in spite of current events.

Edit: OH and as I mentioned in another thread. Anamanaguchi is fucking amazing live, and I think Phil said they're coming to philly, so they're definitely checking out for you east coast folk.

Went to see Alice in Chains/Deftones/Mastodon last night in Camden, NJ. Mastodon was terrible. The vocals were too low or the music was too loud and it just all sounded jumbled together. I dont like them anyway so I didnt really care.

Deftones were awesome. Chino is still an awesome frtonman, running around like crazy and going nuts. They played a little too much of their slower shit from more recent albums. But they rocked out a good amount of older jams to satisfy me.

Alice In Chains were really good too. The new frontman was impressive. He can carry a tune. Doesnt have the same voice as Layne Staley but he's definitely good in his own way. They played too many new songs, probably like 5. But the encore set of Angry Chair, Man In The Box and Would was awesome. Oh and the opening song was Them Bones. DOUBLE AWESOME.

Aw, that sucks that Mastodon put on a bad show. It seems like all openers have sound problems. Mastodon is awesome tough, they are some talented mofos.

Disturbed live was eh when i saw them, the guitarist just stands their and doesn't look like he wants to be playing there in the same pose.

nice. One of my friends from work went to the show and had a great time too. He said he wasn't a fan of Mastadon going in, but they could really play even though he couldn't understand a word they were saying. He said Alice in Chains was fantastic, but the crowd wasn't really into it until the encore.

Deftones played 7 new songs. I didnt realize it was so much but that kinda sucks. I mean they made some good choices off the new album but still I'd rather hear 7 Words, Root, Be Quiet and Drive, Bored, Hexagram, Needles & Pins and Passenger over some of those new ones.

Went to see CKY at the TLA in Philly on Friday. I used to be really into these guys but they kind of dropped off my radar for a while. I loved the shit out of their 2nd album but it kind of went downhill after that. But I was excited to see them after a long hiatus. They're always much heavier live than on their albums which is awesome. Shit got a little crazy and my cousin got hit from behind in a mosh pit and blew his knee out. He's had knee problems for a long time, so we had to leave because he could barely stand. It sucked because we only heard like 4-5 songs. I tried talking him into staying but he was in a lot of pain so we split. But hey it was still a good time while it lasted. They still rock the house in their hometown of Philly. Didn't see any of the Jackass guys this time though.

I went and saw Against Me! at the Troc last night. I didn't really know anything about this band until 2 weeks ago, but they put on a hell of a show. They played a 25+ song setlist straight through, one song after the next, with no bullshit in between. It was probably the loudest show I've been to, but that isn't to say it sounded bad. The sound was actually great. I was able to hear the singer's voice clearly, and the bass reverberated nicely throughout the entire venue. I was amazed at the end when the drummer's arms were still attached. A good time was had by all and many beers were consumed.

I need to go to more concerts.

Went to see Motley Crue and Poison at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ last night.
I was never a big Crue fan until last year's Ozzfest when they put on an awesome show. Got free tickets to this one so gathered together a group of dudes, tailgated for a couple hours and then rocked out.

We walked in during Poison's set. They were pretty good. I said it last night, they sing a lot of gay songs. Bret Michaels is just trying to pick up chicks. But they have some good jams too. They put on a good show.

Crue rocked the house though. Tommy Lee's drumset was on a rollercoaster so he was riding upside down and shit still playing his solo. Vince Neil still has the pipes. He can do all those 80s screams and sounds awesome. And Nikki Sixx was trashing Bon Jovi which was pretty funny. All in all, great time.

Man, nice! I would have definitely wanted to go to that. Speaking of Motley Crue, I watched Hot Tub Time Machine last night and it was pretty funny.

Saw Eddie Money in Philly last night. It was a free concert for the holiday.
He was terrible. Mumbled and couldn't hit the high notes. Not that he really has many high notes anyway.
It was a fun time. He played all his hits... Shakin, Walk on Water, Take Me Home Tonight, Two Tickets to Paradise, Baby Hold On.
But its about time for Eddie to hang it up. Its over.

My wife snapped a pic after the show as he was going to sign autographs. He looks like death.

Did any of you go to the Orion Festival in AC?
That sounded like an awesome concert.

Nah. With the wife being 9 months pregnant and ready to pop, I didn't want to be too far away from home.
Its about an hour away. I watched the full performance on Youtube of Saturday's show. Looked like an awesome time.
They played Ride the Lightning album in full, from end to beginning though.

Arctic Monkeys show was awesome. Venue was kind of a dump, but it was still a good time. Played a new song, too!

Horrible phone shot which was then compressed by uploading. Quality.
