I turned my air on a month ago to make sure everything was good, I knew Colleen wouldn't wanna hold out as long as she usually does now that she's getting bigger. I seriously can't believe the countless people you've had out haven't been able to fix that problem. We work with an HVAC company but I wouldn't recommend them, most of the people that work for them are giant douchebags.

So the dude came and of course he tried to get out of doing the job.

He goes outside and fixes whatever and then he comes in. Tells me it was a little low on freon and that if it happens again they'll come out and do a die test on the lines and fix it. He said that would be free of charge and so is what he just did. So then I said "Well I should probably get the test done." and he says "Well if it freezes up again, then yeah." I let him go and he goes out to his car.

I spoke to Dem on the phone about it and she got me kinda fired up about what happened. I saw his truck was still out there. So I go outside and say to him that I want the test done. That there is no reason the thing should even be leaking since it's brand new. That's when he said "Okay, I'll set it up and they'll call you tomorrow."

Of course it's going to freeze/leak again, he didn't fucking fix anything! It's like filling up a cracked glass with water and saying "okay, if it leaks again, then I'll seal it up."

i did some research online and a lot of ppl were having the same problem i was and said you need to change the run capacitor. So i went to audubon supply and got one for 20 bucks and just put it in.

The fan is running and its pumping cool air. Just gotta wait awhile and see if the fan will stay on.

Phil who did you use to come and fix your air?

Cool dude. That would be awesome if you fixed it yourself.

And I use Alber Service Company. Anyone in the area ever use them?

I work midnights so I don't have to put up with the shitty weather. It's so much cooler at night time, and during the day I'm in the basement sleeping on the floor. Sure, when I wake up my body aches but it's going to feel like shit from work anyways.

That's why god invented painkillers.

Joe recently fixed his heater thanks to the internet. He did what Hack did, just googled the issue, bought the part and followed the directions.

I wish I could fix my AC issues with the internet.

For sure, I've learned how to fix/do/build so many things through youtube.

The only thing the internet is shit for is learning how to fix problems with modern consoles... either that or pennies have magical properties when used in conjunction with 360s. Either way I wasn't going to void my warranty for that shit.

well 424 bucks later its fixed. Im not using this company again though. The guy left here at 2 saying he was gonna find a motor for me and then never came back and didnt call. I called them and they said oh he had to order it and will be out sometime saturday. Now i left work early b/c they dont give you a time on when they are coming. They just show up. So i left work at 9:30 and he got here at 1:30. I could of stayed at work. Then they say he will be back saturday. So i had to have my Gmom sit here until he was done b/c i couldnt leave work again.

Anyway he got his haha. Go check the dog thread.

My temp was at 84 all day in my house today. Not because my AC isnt working but just because it was so damn hot. I think it topped at 98 degrees outside today. It probably also has to do with my new room being added to the house taking up some of that airflow that would go other places. But still, its down to 80 now and I'm still a little sweaty. I've said it multiple times before but I like it to be 70 to sleep so I'll probably just go coverless tonight since I doubt its gonna get that low.

My electric bill was already alot last month, this month is gonna destroy me if the days stay this hot and the AC runs constantly for 24 hours.

ill file this one as "broke" even though its really "dont have yet"

i live in a condo in a building. somehow, they did some new pipe work to the building and magically seemingly the only unit that lost its storage space was mine. so after a few years of bitching, they finally let me store stuff down in the basement in one of the...storage rooms. i mean, what the fuck is that room being used for anyway? just make a new storage space for me in THAT room??

anywho, i dont have the key to this room, and that's where i stashed my AC. i have to get it from y super who lives here. apparently, the guy is away for a few weeks. my management company says that "im going ot stop by the building today, and ill let you in. i THINK i have the key to that room." you THINK you have it?

anywho, the guy didnt call nor did he come by. its been pretty gross in here all day. im not really around that much these days, so i havent had time to put it in yet. however today is just insane. i want my god damned AC!!!

my parents are down the shore for the week so my sister called me to come check out their AC. Its busted. Its 92 in their house right now and the fan on the AC unit just wont kick in. Luckily they have a finished basement which is nice and cool as of right now so she's going to sleep down there tonight. Man, the heat is destroying.

john sounds like the same problem i had. If its the run capacitor its a easy fix. Mine was the fan motor and it cost us 400 beaners

There's nothing wrong with mine. Had someone take a look and basically said with our new addition the AC cant cool down the whole house when its really hot out. I reset to 78 during the day so its not just running nonstop and its been getting there the last few days. But right now when its upper 90s outside its up at that dreaded 84 inside and there's nothing we can do about it besides getting a heavier duty AC. Blows, big time. Time to hide in the basement.
