And it's July 20th.... 2012.

I mean, why even announce that? Good lord, if I'm not mistaken it'll be 5 years between that and Dark Knight. Or is it 4 years? Still! Such a long time.

let's also not forget the infameous "x-men will suck" era.

i kind of like that they're taking their time with batman. they're not rushing it just to put something out there and they're taking care of the brand that they built. i have respect for that.

I agree, I think one of the reasons why I like Batman and Iron Man so much is because they don't have super powers. I mean realistically Batman and Iron Man's super powers are really just, "We're really smart and have more money than God," when you break it down.

Hell, even Lex Luthor fits into that exact same category as being someone who is too smart and has way too much money. I kind of wish he was a Batman villain and not a Superman one. Those two guys could go at it in a really even setting.

Superman just pisses me off because he's essentially a tiny-god whose only weakness is rare green rocks that only Lex Luthor can somehow afford. You don't expect Superman to ever die, which made his comic series boring, and it's also probably the reason why his death was so impactful because for once it was like, "fuck really? I didn't think he could die."

And before anyone says it, yea the thread has been thoroughly derailed, but let's be honest here, there's nothing to talk about batman 3 wise until June 2012.

I liked this Thor Thread.

But it's good to know that Batman 3 will be happening, and it will have a big chunk of time since the 2nd one came out. Hope its worth it.

I also kinda hope that Batman 3 will be the last for a bit, before Batman gets re-imagined again. Or, before they change Batmans on us...

Christopher Nolan finally announced he would be taking on his third Batman flick in the near future. He is working on the script now with his brother and longtime writing partner, Jonathan Nolan. The first bit of casting news has also been released.

Tom Hardy, who just appeared in Nolan's Inception (and was AWESOME), has been cast in an unknown role. The rumors are flying around that it could be The Riddler.

haha, to be fair I only saw the dark knight twice, and it's a great movie other than batman having a dick in his mouth the whole film.

I can do those things...dark knight has one of the best endings ever...batmans speech followed by gordons epic speech.

Cool title. Not to shocking he's sticking with The Dark Knight title, further separating himself from actually using the name "Batman."

I liked the rumored Gotham City title that was floating around for a while too.

Wonder who the bad guy will be? Riddler seemed like the obvious choice.

I'd say both, but I doubt he wants to just redo Batman Returns. If he goes Catwoman its going to be a completely different angle. All I know is that I just want this movie to be out tomorrow.
