Here's the thing about funny stories like that. Sure, you're going to get great stories. However, when the stories are happening to you, you're going to be fucking furious. Then as you're typing the story, you're still going to be furious. Then as everyone is laughing at it you're going to remind them that they didn't have to deal with said story. So sure it's good for us, but never you.

This is so damn true that...well it's very true.

I would give my left nut to have Howard the Hutt, The Riddler and the rest of the mutants that frequent our store dissapear and leave me alone forever.

Every time I post a link or a quote about/from an interesting athiest or astronomer that has something to do with refuting creationism, or the universe in general, one of my christian family members/friends ends up getting offended and angry at me on facebook. Yet I tolerate all their bible quotes, they can believe what they want, why cant' I?

The part that makes this clutch is that all my athiest friends end up swarming comments on the status.

I always laugh.

for the record, I'm not trollin on facebook, I just find cool facts/quotes and post them, that's all.

If people are writing a bunch of Bible quotes on FB all day, I guess that can be a bit much. That said, I can see why people take offense to it. There are a lot of ways to look at it, but I can completely see why people would think you're knocking them down a few pegs. Personally, I'm a fan of people mainly keeping that shit to themselves. Do you have strong faith in your religion? Good, shut up about it and try not to sit there and make it like you're King Dong because you believe in the Lord. Do not believe in anything? That's fine, but don't sit there and shit on the people that might have some faith.

I did see your friends remark and I was just slightly tempted to reply to it myself but I thought "No, I won't go there." One thing that drives me just as nuts as some crazy Christian preaching bullshit are the people on the complete opposite end of the spectrum.

Oh yeah, that video your buddy posted about the God Hates Fags people is pretty awesome. I watched the whole thing this morning at work. The part where the little kid gets egged is so weird. I could tell I felt just like how the documentary dude felt. It's like "Good, thats what these people get. But shit, a little kid got hit.. he sort of deserves it, but he doesn't. Shit, what do I do now?"

edit: he doesn't get egged, he gets a drink thrown at him.

Yeah that group is fucked up. Again I'm not trying to troll or post beliefs all the time. I posted a link once to a scientific discovery website which put the big bang in a simplistic yet concise format, I thought it was interesting.

And I got flamed out by family again. hahaha

I try to take this view towards religion too, but it's not always easy. It would be easy if everyone would abide by the rule of minding your own business, but in my personal experience, religious people aren't interested in accepting other peoples views, especially when questioning theirs, and most vocal atheists are huge douchebags.

I thought the Church was actually accepting of the Big Bang Theory? I mean, it's not like they didn't teach us about it in grade school.

I've worked with two very vocal super liberal atheist types in my day and oh my god... so hard to handle those guys. The one guy considered himself a "free thinker" yet anything that didn't fall in line with his skewed POV was wrong. He also one of those guys that believes 911 was an inside job. Hearing about that almost daily was tough.

In other news...I finished up my 2 courses for the semester in grad school earlier today. All of the assignments left were due next week, and i just knocked em out of the way during breaks between classes today. So now it's time to go for a trip, play some baseball, see some old friends, and chill on a beach.

Work hard, play hard.

Because I am half Mexican, I am getting hooked up on my car repairs. Because there is some important body work that needs to be done, the total was originally supposed to be around $1200, but because I got my Dad's wife to say I was her brother it got taken down to $700. Tomorrow I'm giving him the money and my car should be back to normal Saturday night.
