I just watched a couple of videos on youtube of people playing the beta and it's just painful to watch. I wish they picked people that actually knew how to play starcraft for beta. This is ridiculous. The one guy had no idea he even signed up for it! Man, they are so bad! That's it, I'm done watching these. They're just upsetting me.

I don't know if these guys are any better, but I think they run a tournament or something out of their channel and they're always playing.

iccup is some sort of ladder ranking thing for Starcraft I believe. The people from there should be decent. They would at least know the basic mechanics of Starcraft.

The ICCUP is like the premiere league for Star Craft players in North America, they even have different rankings for player groups. A buddy of mine has been doing tryouts for a sponsership as a C-rank player.

The Korean league, it goes by the name Star League, is even more insane. In North America ranking goes from A - C I believe, all Korean players get an S rank because of how insanely awesome they are at the game. If you want to see some awesome Star Craft playing check out this Korean player who goes by the name of Boxer, all his fans call him the Emporer. Here's a youtube video of one of his games. Most of these Korean guys can do like 300 - 700 actions a minute or some shit. Just insane.

Screw watching the dude's game, this keyboard view of one of his games just shows you how insane these guys are when it comes to playing.

So I "got" the beta and watched some of the replays. That game looks awesome. It ran pretty well on my computer too with everything put to max. But my stupid video card get so freaking hot. I have to basically keep the fan at 100% the entire time and it's super loud. This sucks. I'm going to make sure the next card I get doesn't have these kinds of heating issues.

If you end up playing as a terran let me know how they are in the new game. I'm a little wary them getting rid of things like the wraith and medics from Broodwar. Then again that Thor mega-mech just looks awesome.

I can't play it right now. Only watch replays. The medivac is essentially the medic and drop ship combined into one. It does suck that the wraith isn't in it anymore. The cloaking ability was vital to hit and runs. Not to mention it was pretty much the terran's only solution to mass carriers. The vikings look like they're pretty good AA though. So I guess people will just be massing that. I like how the replays now have APM and a boat load of other information. You can really see when someone doesn't know what they're doing. Their APM averages around 50. Someone who kind of knows what he's doing generally has his average around 100-150. Some of these people just sit there and do nothing. It's ridiculous to watch.

That sounds amazing haha, and yea my APM has always sucked, I'll get anywhere's from about 75 - 200 depending on how I'm doing. Strategy games have always had a love/hate relationship from me. Kind of interested in the medivac now, can it carry vehicles as well or just infantry? And if it does carry vehicles I don't suppose it also repairs them?

I don't know if you can carry tanks or not. But I'm pretty sure it only heals organics like the medic. I'm also not sure if the SCVs have auto repair functions now like in WC3. They should probably leave that out since it would make repairing in battle too automated. Unless they set it to only auto repair buildings and not units.

I agree with the autorepair thing. That was retarded.

So I just got to try out the game in a sandbox mode. I had no opponents. I just got to build shit. I only check out the Terrans so far. Some of them say some pretty funny stuff when you click on them. Especially the Ghost. And the SCV does do auto repair. You can also rally to the mineral fields like in WC3.

Tell me what you think of the Terran Marauders sometime. I'm interested as all muck to see how they play out.

Marauders are pretty strong. They do a ton of damage to armored units. Plus you can stim pack them so they're even more deadly. I think you should pretty much be able to own everything except air units with marauders and medivacs.

This makes me very happy. My friend was telling me they are great against zerg/protoss and mechanical terran units but they dont fair as well against regular marines. Either way this game looks amazing.

I just tried out the protoss. The nexus has the ability to make anything build/research 50% faster for 30 seconds at the cost of 25 energy. This looks to be a HUGE advantage. You can upgrade stuff and build men so quick especially if you have 2 or 3 nexuses. Granted, you have to remember to do it but it seems really powerful tool. You can pump out an army so fast this way, they might need to tweak it. I guess the terran MULE is pretty powerful too. They gather minerals at 30 minerals a trip. I guess that in itself is a huge boost too. I'll try out the zerg next. I'm sure the queen's extra larvae ability is pretty powerful too. And the game just looks awesome. I haven't even played it against anyone and I already love it. The Thor talks just like Arnold by the way, it's pretty funny.

So those giant bomb live guys got an early demo of SSFIV and they're playing it. How the hell do they always get to demo the games early? Who chooses them to do it? They have no idea what the hell they're doing. In Starcraft or Street Fighters. These guys have no business in demoing games. The worst.

I would imagine most big gaming sites get preview builds if they are. It's not like they have pro SF/SC players on hand.

Oh, I didn't realize they were that big. I still wish games were demoed by people that knew how to play them. I had more fun watching Justin Wong demo the 3rd Strike characters for 10 minutes than watching these fools play for an hour.
