The nominations for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum were announced today. The nine nominees are: Jeff Beck, Chic, Wanda Jackson, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Metallica, Run-D.M.C., the Stooges, War, and Bobby Womack. Ballots will be sent to more than 500 voters, who will select artists to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the 24th Annual Induction Ceremony on April 4 at historic Public Hall in Cleveland. For the first time, tickets to the ceremony will be made available to the public.
To be eligible for nomination into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an act must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination. This year's nominees had to release their first single no later than 1983.

Thats one place I definitely want to visit someday. The only real reason I'd ever go to Cleveland

hmm, I'm surprised Jeff Beck isn't in the RRHF yet.

Cleveland rocks?

The one time I was in Cleveland, no one wanted to go.
We went to the Football hall of fame in Canton as soon as we got to Cleveland and it was pretty far from our hotel so everyone was pretty dead after that combined drive.

I regret it because who knows if I'll ever go back there.

I have a wedding outside of Pittsburgh, if its a reasonable drive I may drive over to it. Weddings far away that aren't destination weddings blow.

Edit - Super fast scratch, its 4 hours thats double the drive.

I was too.
The RRHF is pretty nice, but if you go make sure you block enough time. I went a long time ago and only got to spend about 1-2 hours there. It was great, but I didn't get to read as much as I wanted. I tried to see everything, but I wasn't able to really get into much detail on anything.

Kiss has no business being on that list.

I agree that KISS stinks but they have 7 Platinum albums and 9 Gold so thats probably why they made the list.

RHCP has no right being on that list after the shit they've been putting out for the last few years.
I think Genesis and the Stooges are gimme's. The HOF needs a little Iggy Pop.

Yeah a definite on Genesis and The Stooges, id throw in The Hollies for the hell of it, Long Cool Woman is a sweet jam, i disagree with you on RHCP, I think theyve consistently put out awesome albums, with their most recent being their best since Californication in my opinion, and the more i really think about it, who really gives a fuck about the rock and roll hall of fame, does being inducted actually give a band more credibility, especially when ABBA and KISS can get in. The museum is cool, but just make it a music museum, dont act like its some elitist club

Im not a huge fan of the sex pistols but i love the fact that they told the hall of fame they can shove their induction up their ass

I can't argue anything on RHCP for the fact I've never purchased a cd. I like the older hits more than the singles they play on the radio, but suits pick singles. I'm sure the cd's are alot deeper than Black bandanna, sweet Louisiana

I like how people are mentioning how KISS and ABBA shouldn't get in but aren't protesting LL Cool J.

Even before that album....you can go back to

Momma Said Knock You Out!

or even I Can't Live Without my Radio...

They should remake that one.
