I've been listening to MJ my whole life and I may think the last 10 to 15 years he's lost his mind but I still listened to his music. I even bought Invincible a few years ago. I must say my favorite Micheal is black but he still had hits when he was a white guy. I think my favorites are Don't Stop to you Get Enough or I Wanna Rock with you. I do like Thriller but its not first favorite.

Don't Stop to you get Enough and Rock with you are two of my favorites also. Whenever either of them would come on the radio, I would crank it up to the MAX.

I was a big MJ fan back in my younger days.
There's old VHS tapes at my parents' house of me lip synching to MJ songs and making music videos with my siblings and cousin. good times.
Its funny because I always throw in some Jackson moves on the dance floor at weddings or parties and I guess people know that because when he died i was gettings texts saying sorry for your loss. haha I was like what the hell is going on. I wasnt at home when it happened so I was informed through a text message. I rushed to my sister in law's computer to confirm it.

Its pretty crazy. Although he has been a freak weirdo in the last decade, you cant deny all the revolutionary shit he did. Even the Black & White video where people where morphing into other people was pretty innovative. The guy was a music icon. Personal Life aside. My brother put it in a good way, he said to my Mom this death is like Elvis dying for people that were adults in the 70s.

I definitely was sad to hear him go. But I think it would have had a bigger impact on ME personally if he was still putting out music and touring the US. He was kind of in hiding and out of the public eye for a long time.

I think that is the part that makes me the most upset. I was always pulling for Michael to make some sort of come back because I always thought it was upsetting that an icon like him was turning into a wreck. We don't know what he did with those kids for certain, we really don't. Maybe some sort of truth will come out in the next few months, or even years. On top of that, there was also other deep rooted psychological problems he faced which are one of the main causes for his looks to keep changing. You know, rumors that his father would always tell him that his nose was too big and then as a result basically chopped the thing off. He really is a tragic icon.

Joe's nickname for Michael as a kid was "Big Nose". I'd say that's basically why he cut it off since he was tormented his entire childhood by his dad.

The book publisher Judith Regan was on O&A today talking about MJ. She said she tried working with him on several books but he really had the mind of a child and wanted to put together a book about how he loved children and slept with them in bed to feel some comfort. she kept telling him he couldnt write about that because people wouldnt understand and he didnt get it. he just couldnt wrap his mind around why people thought it was weird. he seriously had some mental problems.

Yeah man. You gotta think, he never had a normal life. He was either being tortured by his Dad, performing, or both. He didn't really get a chance to properly grow up. It's also not just him either, his whole family is basically a bunch of nut jobs in different ways. Fucking Joe Jackson.

Once they do the autoposy today, they'll find out. But I dont think they get the concrete results until weeks later.

This video is great.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4s16pzRYqU
People are fainting, and crying, and getting taken out on stretchers.
Then a wheelchair guy gets passed through the crowd.
Its hilarious.

Did you know that Eddie Van Halen provided the solo for that song? He did it in only 2 takes. Supposedly, some manager guy was knocking on the recording room door to see if anyone was inside and you can hear it in the song. Then he saw him recording and quickly shut the door. But that's just speculations though.

I love the exchange between him and Chris Tucker in this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3wShd_b ... re=channel

That was an under appreciated video/song when it came out because of everything going on with him. And man, he does look fucking weird in it... he can barely move his mouth.

I probably listened to this song like 4 times today

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nm_h9dLtJM

I was alternating between this and Man in the Mirror...Not only did I have his greatest hits looped on my ipod but the guys in the shop at work were doing the same on a cd player there...

When I was playing college football, the Defensive Coordinator used Man In The Mirror to get us hyped for a game. He explained that after the last home game we played, that we shouldn't be able to look ourselves in the mirror because of how bad we played, and that we should redeem ourselves that day, so that we would be able to look ourselves in the mirror once again, without shame. Needless to say we beat the hell out of that team. I had never thought that that song could get anyone hyped up for a game, but that just goes to show you the power of Michael Jackson's music.

I watched The Jackson 5 made for TV movie, when I was in 8th grade ('96-'97) and soon after started listening to my father's Jackson 5 greatest hits cd, and became an instant fan. I remember spending hours, in my room, listening to those songs and wondering what it would have been like to have been a teenager, when The Jackson 5 were big, and using those songs to get laid. When they played those songs on Good Morning America, Today, and other morning shows, it took me back to a simpler time. Michael Jackson and The Jackson 5 FTW!

This is pretty interesting. There were rumors of a Michael Jackson game being worked on and David Perry pretty much laid it out there in his blog that he was in fact working on something with Michael. Here's the interesting part

David Perry wrote:
Our discussions lead us to plan for him to release his next music album as a video game FIRST, then as an album. This would have introduced many new players to video games. He was incredibly interested in the idea, and we got quite far down that road, working on the story, mechanics etc. We were excited about the press potential, I remember saying to him, "Oprah never talks about video games", to which he replied, "Oprah is a friend of mine". This was a theme I learned, he had so many friends, and actually spent time with them all. It was really impressive.

Here for the whole blog post http://www.dperry.com/archives/news/dp_ ... l_jackson/

Virt's version of Thriller a few years ago

Virt is also upset with the news and is apparently working on an MJ tribute, which will probably be awesome.
