I absolutely love The Stooges. My Dad got me into them when I was a youngster. He still has tapes and tapes filled with Stooges episodes and when I still lived there I would pop them in from time to time and just watch a few. They hold up well. I can still watch an episode and crack up. Stooges, timeless comedy.

Larry is a Philadelphia native. His old house is now a restaurant on South Street.

Angs dad is obsessed with the stooges...he quotes them on a daily basis...if he sees an ugly chick on the road he says to himself "How much do you charge to haunt a house" and he calls Amish people Spinach Chins...shit like that.

Yeah, I always say I love Shemp more, but then I see a Curly episode and say "I like Curly more." But the truth is, I love them all the same.

I loved when Stern plays the Three Stooges sound clips during some awful thing or during Porn sound bites...nothing better than hearing some chick moaning and during it hear NYAYAYAYAYAHHHHHHHHHH.

Larry is the most unappreciated Stooge. He's been there through it all, just like Moe, yet he's never anyone's favorite. Me and my brother quote Larry all the time. He has secret greatness but he's just in the shadow of the Howard brothers.

by the way, the best part of Stooges episodes is when they use dummies. I tried finding the episode where the bee flies into their clothes and they jump out the window. Its just 3 dummies falling. its hilarious.

Oh yeah man, Larry is awesome. You're probably right that he is the most under appreciated Stooge. I actually ate at his restaurant/home with my in laws one time and I loved the fact I was sitting in some Stooge history.

And yeah, I love it too. On the first clip I posted up there they throw down the Curly dummy after he gets electrocuted and I swear I almost pissed myself. There was another one with Shemp last night, I think its in part 2 of the video I posted, where he falls through a roof and they use a dummy and I almost died.

I want to make an animated gif of Shemp drinking the poison.

in the video you posted above of Shemp clips, you should make an animated gif of Shemp getting ready to fight at 4:39 and then Moe punching him. hahahaha

The stooges are the best.
I'll always remember "NIAGARA FALLS! Slowly I turned...", but I have no idea what that episode was about.
My favorite episodes are when they're Germans, making a mockery of Nazis.

Yeah I saw this the other night. It's so weird that they did something like that. I bet in the RL that Moe hated that, since Shemp is his brother and all.

Man, I can't believe I haven't commented in this thread yet. I'm a huge Stooges fan, I would watch them all the time when I was younger. One of my favorites is the one where they are in the courtroom. I remember all kinds of wacky shit happening. If I can find it on youtube, I'll post it in here when I get home from work.

I cant believe this is real.
Actually I refuse to believe it.

from joblo.com
Quote:
You may have heard the rumors but if you're like me, you didn't really think they would pan out. But somehow they have. Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro are set to star in THE THREE STOOGES for the Farrelly Brothers and they're bringing Jim Carrey with them. Del Toro will star as Moe, Penn will star as Larry and Carrey will gain 40 lbs to star as Curly. And I swear this is not an early April Fools gag.

As I mentioned, both Penn and Del Toro had been rumored as possibilities (as had Russell Crowe at one point) but Carrey's name never came up (at least anywhere that I heard). Penn had reportedly been studying with voiceman Billy West (who did an amazing Larry Fine back on the "Howard Stern Show") to get his voice down. As Variety notes, it would be Penn's first comedy since 1989 and a surprising one giving his recent Oscar win for MILK.

Now that the cast is set, the Farrelly brothers will fine tune the script and look to have production underway this fall for MGM. As previously mentioned, this project won't be a biopic but rather a comedy very much the way the Three Stooges would have made a comedy back in their day.

the more i think about it the more i realize it has to be fake.
Del Toro cant even speak English without an accent. How can he be Moe?!?!?
And Jim Carrey plus 40 pounds would still not be a good Curly.
I bet Sean Penn could pull off a good Larry though. hahaha

Jim Carrey isn't going back to doing slap stick comedy anymore. I just can't see that happening.

This isnt just slap stick though, it's Curly. I imagine The Stooges were probably a huge inspiration for Jim Carrey growing up, so why wouldn't he play the role of Curly?

I for one, hate this whole idea and hope its fake.
