I got 1 thing in February this year, but I think thats because I moved and they sent it to the old address. I filled out all the stuff for mine so I know how much I'm getting, but haven't filed them yet, as I'm still waiting to see what the stimulus plan could bring me. If it doesn't get passed by the end of the week I'm going to file anyway.

can anyone recommend a good tax advisor type company? preferably one I can ask some questions without having to actually file my taxes through them?
1st time home buyers who buy homes in 2009 can now get up to $8000 without having to pay it back. They are also able to claim it on their 2008 income tax by saying they bought the home on Dec. 31 2008. I don't know how the fuck that makes any sense, but since I actually bought my home on Dec. 31, I would think I should be able to claim that free money too. I just want to check with a tax professional on how/if I can do that. The software I use doesn't give me an option for the new credit and I doubt it will ever update to include that.

I have been to H&R Block...thats where my parents always go...they do a good job but they charge you I think around 100 bucks.

This year is the last year I'm getting a big tax return back. F the government I'm taking my money in my paychecks.

It's because of a bill they passed last year (and a new one this year), first time home buyers get a $7500 interest free loan if you bought from april 2008-dec 31 2008 and $8000 in free money if you buy from Jan 1 2009 to Dec 31 2009. (or 10% of the purchase price whichever is lower)
I guess it's supposed to help get the housing market going again.... but the restrictions on it don't really help the people that normally feed the housing market. I just see it as a way to buy new furniture and other shit like that
