Home Inspectors can be held liable for anything they say is fine and sign off on, thats why you pay them 500 bucks. Theyre a waste of money though.

My house was built in 66 or 69, the problems I had with my house were because people try to save money and do things themselves, instead of doing it right though they do a Boushjie ass job. I turned my air on the other day to see if it worked and it did, I'll turn it on for this weekend definitely because its gonna be hot as shit out.

And Steve most companies will wave that initial 180 if you give them the job of replacing it, not all do but I know we will. It may seem like it sucks that you have to pay for someone to come out and tell you they can't fix, but its only fair. At 4 bucks a gallon for gas and the price of business insurance, workmans comp, and health insurance, you have to make money anytime you spend time on a job.

yeah idk, i think it all depends on what inspector you use. mine was here for 4.5 hours and climbed in every fukin nasty corner of this place and took pictures of everything and typed up a detailed report. If anything they had signed off on did within 2 yrs they had to cover the cost. But it did cost 400$ an inspection.

Fairy princess you do know when you buy houses at auction you are buying it "as is" right? and no matter how shitty it is, you are stuck with it. most forclosures and shit are not in good condition. i woud not fuck with that, you could end up here

These town houses are actually brand new. They are listed for too much and no one is buying them so they are auctioning them off. I went to their open house last Sunday and the insides are really nice. My only reservation with the places is that they are kind of close to some high tension wires (200 meters or so is my estimate). There are actually 3 types, one is the super luxury ones which are ridiculously big, 4 story ones. The other 2 are either top 2 floors of the full size ones or the bottom 2 floors. The top 2 floors are bigger. I'm almost positive I'm not going to win the auction but who knows, I can always give it a shot. I'm going to try to bid for one of the mid size ones and one of the smaller ones and see if I can win either one.

ah, that makes more sense. yeah watch out for the high tension wires..my friend grew up near those and him and his brothers all have medical issues. could be coincidental..but who knows.

fucking figures. The the first weekend its really hot our A/C breaks. Plus its a holiday so yesterday and today there is nothing we can do about it. This is why i hate summer time. Fuck the beach and the sun and vacations. Ill take 40 and 50 degree weather all year round. When your cold you can always get under a blanket and get warm.

I think my AC is acting up again. We've had it set to 70 all day. We were out most of the afternoon, came back and it was 77 degrees. It's now 79 degrees. Cold air is coming out, and the unit outside is running. Not really sure if it's just so hot and humid that we can't get it down or if something is wrong again.

Sometimes mine cant get down to what I set it to until it gets later in the day. Maybe my house isnt properly insulated but I think sometimes its just too hot out. It should at least get close to it.

Yeah my Dad said it's pretty normal, but still, it's kinda hotter than normal.

Oh and I went up in the attic to check out the AC unit and noticed some sticks on the ground. Then I noticed some sticks on the unit. Then I realize the roof fan (that doesn't even work currently) has a million sticks in it. So I guess birds attempted to build a nest in it. There were no birds up there, at least, not that I could tell. So Idon't know if they gave up or not. So for the time being I just boarded it up with cardboard that probably already fell. I have to get someone out here to fix that fan. Anyone know a good electrician? I assume that's someone I should go to fix it. I don't really know to be honest.

Before I got my basement redone, Adam replaced my entire fuse box because it was melting some of the breakers and really old and corroded. So I'd say he's good. I can give you his number in a PM if you wanna ask him. Unless you want to go with an official company. He's just a union electrician that does big jobs, not really a call up to fix stuff guy. But I'm sure he'd give you a good price if he's available.

I hate summer and heat. I hate having to turn on an A/C. The best time of the year is spring, and the sun is a whoredaddy.

That being said, when outside is terribly hot I usually bunker down in the basement and everything down there is way cooler, so much in fact that it is like a tiny slice of heaven.

AC is officially fucking shot again. It got up to 80s degrees (it should be cooling down in the house now, not getting hotter) and I went outside to check the unit to find another ice ball forming on it. This is bullshit. These ass clowns have put in a hell of a system. That's for damn sure.

My house averages between 75 and 80 a lot. I don't see what the big deal is, just turn on a fan.

You probably don't have the humidity Jersey gets.

I had to sleep in the basement last night because of the AC and my body is in so much pain from that awful pull out thing on the couch.

Just like the Seinfeld Episode.

I'm glad my air works because if I didn't have it I would be miserable. I've been sleeping on my living room floor the last 5 days and I'm still not even close to 100%. I couldn't get an appointment with a chiropractor until today at 3:30, worst holiday weekend ever.

Good god that sucks man.

I'm stilling waiting for the AC peeps to call me and tell me they're on their way. At this rate, I don't think they're going to fix anything today.
