You should probably go break the news in clutches. Wedding talk has no place in Whore Daddies.

SRP #39. Frank's wedding live? lol

So I've decided to go ahead and do that Energy Savings plan that I was presented with back when the heater exploded. It's been a bit of a drawn out process partly because it took the dude forever to give me the results of my energy audit and partly because I was still on the fence about the whole thing, but it's finally being put into motion.

They're going to do 17k worth of fixes to my house. Getting a new AC Unit outside, new hot water heater, new insulation up in my attic and a few other things. With all these rebates the state gives, it drops the cost down to 10k, which I'll be paying off for 10 years with zero interest. According to the dude I'll also be getting like 800 dollars in cash for some reason (I forget why). On top of that, my heater gets rolled into that and I'll be getting $3,500 back from that about 120 days after this goes through. My payments will be 86 dollars a month, which I can afford (especially since we've been doing a couple hundred every month for the heater, which is starting to hurt us financially) and the guy claims we will save over 90 dollars a month on our energy bill once this is finished. So according to him, I actually save 10 dollars a month, but that remains to be seen.

I can apparently get some tax breaks on all this shit come income tax time and for the 10 years all this shit is covered both in parts and labor. Anytime anything fails they're fixing it for zero cost.

Hopefully this will work out good and be a good thing.

I wonder if I should get that checked out in my house. My AC unit is only 5 years old but since getting the addition out back, its hard to cool down or heat up. I used to keep it at 75 in the summer but had to move it up to 78 because it couldnt get below that. Used to make it go to 70 at night when I sleep but now I just leave it at 78 so its not trying to cool the house down all through the night. Sometimes it doesn't even get below 84 if its like 100 outside. It blows.

Yeah, sounds like you need a higher capacity AC unit. Phil, glad to see that you are getting the AC/Heater fixed for good this time, I mean, when you look at it, how much have you already spent on that thing trying to get it to work right since you have been in the house? Now is the time to do it as you pointed out with all the tax breaks, rebates, and contractors out of work, they are practically giving the stuff away at the moment.

So these peeps are coming to do four days worth of work on my house for this energy plan. Holy moly. It starts Tuesday and ends Friday. I'm actually kind of looking forward to it. I hope everything works out well.

So the work started yesterday. They did a lot of shit from the looks of it. They built this big foam type wall for the unfinished part of my basement, installed the new hot water heater (which is kind of loud, I don't like that part of it) and they spray foamed the shit out of my crawl space. The foamed crawl space actually got me thinking that maybe they also stopped the ants from coming in. I have always suspected they were coming from that section of the crawl space (since they're always up that wall in the different rooms) and now that it's all sealed I wonder if it'll stop them. That would be incredible. That would make it all worth it. So I'm telling the ant guy not to come next month to see what happens. God I'd be so happy. YES SIR.

I never even knew you could get a tankless water heater. It does look like it's got some fancy shit going on with it so that it's more energy efficient. Who the hell knows though.

This is the last day of the big changes. I met with the guy this morning who has been doing the work (I've just been leaving for work and leaving the door open for them to come in so I never see them) and he said everything will be finished today. They put our new AC unit outside, the thing is huge. Apparently it's also a heat pump, which I don't know much about. I told him I was going to buy a cover for it and he said not too because it'll actually run during the winter. I guess to save energy that thing will pump heat into the house until it hits below 40, and that's when the furnace in the attic turns on and does its thing.

I went up into the attic and they had everything torn apart. I don't know how they're going to finish all of that in one day. Parts of the furnace have been dismantled and pipes are all over the place. I'm just hoping I can put everything that was in the attic back up there tonight.

They kind of got crap on my walls in the basement, but I'm hoping I can wash it off with some water. It's not too terrible, but I notice it.

thats how our systems work down here. we have one system that does heat and cooling. you guys need that extra shit with the oil furnaces cause i guess the electric and natural gas stuff cant hack those temps.

I actually don't have an oil furnace, it's all gas. Interesting the heat pump is the norm for you guys though.

So we're not sure if this has to do with the energy crap we did but our Sept energy bill was really low. Our energy bill was only 74 dollars for Sept of this year. Last year it was 240. I'm not sure if it's just from how hot it was last year compared to this year or what, but it's easily our lowest bill yet. Over the last year our lowest was 145. So, at least it appears to be working.

Wow, 240 sounds really high. Even for a house.

We're lucky enough to only pay $40 a month. Some times less. But our place is small. But nothing beats when I was living in Philly with my $5/month electric bill.

Yeah, to heat my house in the coldest months my energy bill is 240 max, I was usually around 100 for months with the window's open. I seem to be higher now with the basement done and all the extra lighting down there now. I went from have 4 20 watt light bulbs in a ceiling fan upstairs to having 14, 65 watt flood lights in the basement. I would assume thats the little spike in my electric.

Holy fucking shit man, the saga continues.

Dem comes down to me and says "So have you been in the guest room lately?" I said "Why what's happening?" I go up there and the whole ceiling is bubbling and it seriously bowing down looking like it's about to fucking cave in. I knew exactly what it was, the stupid water trap had over flowed because the stupid pump wasn't pumping. Last time this happened it leaked and ruined the part of the ceiling where the fire alarm is, which I actually never fixed. I thought about getting them on that but decided not to. Well now they're fixing that along with the rest of the fucking ceiling.

So anyway, it's a fucking mess. I go up there and the trap is overflowing. I bailed out three buckets of water with a ladle. I didn't even get all the water, but it should be enough to hold it over from overlfowing for a while.

I'm calling these sons of bitches tomorrow and going totally fucking nuts. I'm also writing to the owner of the company and I'm telling him how fucking pissed I am. This is an outrage. A fucking outrage.
