Well, I have been watching the market for a while, and just though I would post this one which came up in a search I ran (since it was in the +/-20% of my price range, although not in my location range). I wish this kind of stuff existed around here for this price....

A little sneak peek:

Oh, the price ~$290k

The only downside is that the ballroom was converted to a chapel after it was given to the Church in the 1930's. Not sure I would want to live in a home that had its own chapel, but then again the 5 bedrooms on the second floor and the 4 bedrooms on the third offer plenty of space to do whatever. The gold gilded entrance hall is a nice touch as well and goes nice with the mahogany.

But you can't tell me that this 21x40' room would make an awesome game room:

Now if I could just telecommute....

Hahaha, well I'm going to assume if you can afford a house like that in the first place then money must not be too tight.

That's a pretty huge place for just one man. But $290k is a steal. Wow. The houses here are ridiculously priced. A shit hole 2 bed room will probably run you $700k. That's one reason why I'm not sure if I'll stick around here permanently.

I just checked, a 3 br 2 bath goes for about $900k. And that's for a shitty looking house. Anything decent will easily run you $1.5 mill. But you're still probably getting an old ass house. I think a new house, you may need to drop $2-$3 mil.

I don't know why people buy places in Manhattan either. It costs around $1 mil to get yourself a single bedroom condo. I guess they REALLY love the city...

I guess, but 290 really isn't that much, now if it was priced like it would be around here a million or better... then yeah, I'd agree.

As I said, just wish it would mysteriously be located here in South Jersey in/around the West Deptford area and have the same price (and taxes). Did you guys even see what they were paying on taxes? Just $6k!!!! My parents pay that their 3 bedroom 2 bath!!!! Heck, that place in a single room has probably 1/2 the square footage of their entire house! It's pretty ridiculous when you look at that place and that price and the prices here. There is a really nice Cape Cod on the edge of West Deptford and Woodbury on King's Highway, but it is still in the 330k range (well, it does have an olympic sized swimming pool, and a tennis court/basketball court... and a putting green.... and a couple acres.....)

Edit: I spoke too soon on the price, they just dropped it $5k, so 325k....

They took down most of the photos of the pool and courts, but you can still see them in this pic

Oh did I mention that they have their own flagpole?
