I am by no means a "moon landing was fake" conspiracy theorist but I do find it kind of odd that it's been 40 years since a man was on the moon and that no one has done it except the US.

It's pretty unprofitable. Why would anyone want to do it? If they all of the sudden found gold up there, then maybe we'd see more moon landings.

It's pretty irrefutable that someone's been up there once based on the beacons we can get readings back from among other things. China has been trying to do something to get up there, i think they say in 5-10 years they'll have an attempt? (could just be bullshit though). Aside from that I don't see what the point is spending a lot of money to go hang out on the moon right now.

Oh I for sure believe that there were dudes up there but I think a lot of these conspiracy guys mainly debate the Apollo 11 landing specifically. I suppose faking it was possible and they definitely would have had a motive to do so, but it's one of those, why waste your life constantly arguing a point you will never prove, things.

Yeah but these people latch on to an idea and will not believe anything. They will deny any proof that they are presented with, frequently using lines like "I can't believe you are believing their propaganda", "this information is coming from sources sponsored by the government" and so on.

I think the most ridiculous conspiracy theory is that chem trails nonsense.

In a way I get how they can believe these things though. It's not like you're government (an especially the CIA) has not done some crazy ass stuff. The Freedom of Information Act dug up some crazy stuff like Operation Midnight Climax and Operation Northwoods. In Midnight Climax the CIA hired prostitutes who would bring Johns back to a safehouse where they would secretly dose them with LSD and other substances while agents monitored them from behind one-way glass. Northwoods was a proposal by the CIA to "develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami area, in other Florida cities and even in Washington." They were going to have friendlies attack US cities/military and such and blame it on Cuba. Also "Operation Northwoods proposals included hijackings and bombings followed by the introduction of phony evidence that would implicate the Cuban government."

So I definitely get why some people can get to a point of mistrust so severe that they believe that all of those contrails are really chem trails and all of those other things.

See that's the thing with conspiracy theories, they sound insane and the majority are bullshit but every once in awhile BAM! That's the issue with people like Jesse Ventura and Alex Jones. They latch onto every single little conspiracy so even when they do stumble across something that has a higher chance of being true it makes it just as easy to dismiss as crazy.

Well people don't want to believe shit like this about their govt. But you should pretty much assume that every government is run just like most corporations. They are set up to benefit a select few, keep everyone else in their place and keep order through fear. It is just the way it is.
