I didn't think anyone in America on salary got overtime anymore no matter what field they worked in.

I've never gotten overtime. Sometimes I won't report half days as vacation and justify it because I put in 60 hour weeks. Even as I type it that sounds ridiculous.

If you have gotten overtime in IT, hold on to that job as long as you can.

When I said I don't get OT, I meant I don't put in the hours either. I do a strict 40 hours a week and get paid for that.
If I have to do extra time then I'll ask my boss for approval, if he says Yes then I get paid for OT and if he says No then I just go home at 40 hours and he can deal with the consequences.

My job is very strict about charging our time. If we work an extra hour and don't record it then thats a big No-No.

I am hourly, and i get about 10 hours of OT per week. Without my OT, my job would basically be worthless.

i have more short weeks than long weeks. so it balances out for me. like shibbs i am in IT and on salary. most IT jobs are that way. some of them suck and you are constantly on call so the money you make isn't really worth it in the long run.

Yeah, any government OT has to be approved and paid for. That was the one nice thing about working at L-3. Overtime is always paid.

It's not Level 3. It's L-3 Communications, they're different companies. People always get them confused.

I didn't know you guys worked for Akami / L-3. I see L3 people all the time here. One of my co-workers actually worked for Akamai for a while before coming here.

I don't know what Akami is but I worked for L-3 Communications in Camden, NJ for 2 years in their IT Department. My Dad still works there now. He's the head honcho in the Security department.

Some dude on reddit made a post asking if someone could identify the license plate number of a car that hit and ran him based on the imprint it left. Mission accomplished!

Why? Its nice to see kids play a defensive system, unlike the pros who stand around and wait to get a ball to run down and dunk.

I don't watch the NBA at all but I always get into these college games during March Madness.
So many games come down to the final second and get intense at the end. Sure there's a blowout here and there. But most of them are exciting to watch.

College basketball is so much more fun than NBA. Especially when you are at the games cheering for your team.
