The DOW is only 200 points below where we finished last week. This after moving up around 400 points from the week's low. These swings are absurd. Tomorrow is the monthly jobs number which is another market mover.

In individual stock news, Barclays came out and gave a $63 price target on FCX and an overweight rating. Give me by that by the end of the year and I'll dance naked around the block. I'm sure Europe will fuck it up all over again and ruin that scenario. Despite that, I still think a rally occurs into the end of the year.

In the words of David Hasselhoff.... "THISSSS.... IS A MESSS..."

I'd like to blow the entire EuroZone up and then send a bomb to Congress.

Well 2011 sucked ass and I'm not making any predictions for 2012 because the world is going to end anyway. We should see an up market first few days this week tho. Hopefully, Europe doesn't screw it up again....

US Market starting to defy Europe.... A solid jobs number tomorrow could be the major catalyst that keeps the January effect going. When I say solid, I think anything over 200K additions will move the market up. (Note: I actually believe the BLS Jobs number is bullshit no matter what it is, but the market moves on it so I will trade based on that fact)

SiriusXM exploded .21 cents today and closed above the $2 level for first time in months after Mel Karmazin pre-announced subscriber numbers that beat all analyst estimates. The chart was lined up for a Technical breakout and this announcement couldn't have been timed better. Tomorrow is interesting.... hoping it can move to $2.20 within the next week and I will cash out my January options for a nice profit. We shall see.....

Aloca with decent earnings and better than expected 2012 outlook to kick off earnings season. Everyone expects terrible earnings so the bar is set so low that any beat is going to send this market higher. World news less horrible than expected also helping futures. Should be a solid day..... Europe still something to keep an eye on along with Iran and rising oil prices. Market does want to go higher though so we will see how this plays out.

Yeah, there is zero market confidence in Nintendo as a business right now. WiiU isn't winning anyone over at this point. It doesn't help that no one cares about 3DS either.

I closed out just about all my Sirius $2 calls for a small profit... considering where the stock was a month ago, it looked like they were going to expire worthless so I will definately take it. Looking for a pullback then putting money into the June $2 calls.

what kind of account(s) do you have? Like is it all IRA for retirement or do you have standard account that you can liquify easier?

I have two standard accounts. One with Sharebuilder and one with TD Ameritrade. My retirement fund is with Vanguard and was setup through work. If I had to go with one, I'd go with TD Ameritrade especially since they are always having online classes that teach you different investing techniques ranging from beginner to advanced. My retirement fund I contribute a percentage of my paycheck to different funds. My standard accounts I use for daily trading and general investing.

Yeah, I should have jumped onto FCX. I was thinking about it when it was at $39. I might still do it once I transfer some funds.

Man watching RIM's stock always makes me sad. I love Blackberry's and their stock just plummeted after the playbook release (which are apparently becoming like $300 after launching between $600-$700) Also Balsilie and that other guy stepped down. I bet that dude is happy his bid to buy the Phoenix Cayotes fell through.

Fed keeps rates unchanged through 2014. Translation: The Fed wants everyone in the equity market because you aren't going to get returns anywhere else.
