The 40 Year Old Virgin

It made me laugh and kept me interested throughout the whole thing. It was actually long for a comedy too which wasnt bad because I laughed all the way up until the most ridiculous ending ever. Its rare that 2 comedies (Virgin and Crashers) come out so close to each other that are 10's in my book but it happened. I wouldnt say one is better than the other because I laughed a lot during both of them. I hope Steve Carell gets some more starring roles because he's goddamn funny, go buy The Office Season 1. Paul Rudd (Brian Fantana from Anchorman) was really funny in this movie too. He should get more parts in movies. Anyway, go see it if you havent so you can laugh, laugh, laugh.

You know what i found out. the guy Cal is from Anchorman. I was watching it last night and the part where Veronica falls into the Bear pit Ed is asking a cameraman where she is and the cameraman was Cal. It looked like him b/c he still had the beard and i looked it up on imdb.com and it is him.

I also give it a 10/10 i never really just blurt out a loud laugh at the movies but this movie had me doing it a lot.

I'll add another reply to the greatest thread on the Smorgas Board.... because I can contribute on an almost daily basis hahahaha

Casino

This classic movie is from back in '95 and I didnt seen it until now. I had nothing to do all night so I watched it. Its 3 hours long and it didnt even seem like it. Thats how you know a movie is good. Its about the mob basically running a casino and drugs, bitches, greed, and power bringing th empire down. Deniro and Pesci are phenomenal as the two leads.

Save your money and don't waist your time with "The Brothers Grimm". The biggest dissapointment of the century, and I don't think I ever left a theater so quickly in my whole life. The best part of the movie was when the lights were accidently turned on which prevented us from seeing about 3 minutes of the film, but unfortunately, the lights were turned back off again. I want my $18 back!

The Truman Show

This is a really cool and unique movie. At first I didnt like it as much as I do now because it was basically Jim Carrey's first non-comedy role. Yeah there are a few funny parts in this movie but its mostly a drama. If you dont know what its about then let me tell you. Truman has, since birth, been the star of a TV show. His whole entire world is a set and he doesnt know it. Everyone he knows is an actor (including his parents) and everyone around the world watches him through hidden cameras 24-7. As the movie goes on he starts learning more and more about how fake his world is.

The Brothers Grimm

it wasnt terrible but it wasnt anything special either.
the story was kinda dumb at first but the last half hour or so was pretty cool. its a fantasy comedy so thats already a weird type of genre and it didnt come off too well. matt damon and heath ledger are good in it though as brothers who lie about "exerminating" evil spirits from villages. then they meet a real evil spirit who is stealing girls to become young again. the queen is monica belluci and shes hot but she didnt get naked like she does in 90% of her other movies. oh well i can say i fairly enjoyed it, i dont think i would buy it on DVD though.

It looks cool, its fun to watch and Johnny Depp is the man. Oh yeah one thing I forgot to mention.... its a Tim Burton masterpiece. I havent seen this movie since I went to see it in theaters, can you believe that? Mandy has it on DVD so we popped it in last night and watched it. I forgot how cool it was. Christopher Walken has absolutely no lines in this movie as the Headless Horseman, even when he has a head. He just goes ARRRRRRGH! and shows his fang teeth. But he's somehow still great. And then you have Jeffery Jones in a George Washington wig. GRACE!!!

The Hudsucker Proxy

The only Coen Brothers movie that I havent seen until now. It was set in 1959 and a company's president kills himself. The stock is going to be made public to buy so the other members of the board hire what they think is an idiot, Tim Robbins, to bury the company. Once the company starts sucking the stock price will lower, the board will buy it all, and then rebuild the company and become millionaires. What the board doesnt realize is Tim Robbins isnt an idiot, he actually invents the Hula Hoop while running the company and the stock starts soaring through the roof. So now that I told you half the movie just a few more things. Its pretty funny with some good acting from Robbins, Paul Newman, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Steve Buscemi even has a 5 minute scene as a bartender.... at a juice bar. Tim Robbins' drunken scene is really funny too. I would reccommend it to Coen fans but I can see how some people wouldnt like it.

I just remembered I watched this movie too when I got home from work....

Private Parts

Howard Sten's biography was originally a book and then he created it into a movie. If you havent seen it, you have to check it out. I have seen it so many times that its not as funny as it once was but its still a damn funny movie. Howard had a good life and an interesting one while rising to the top of the talk radio world. Not to mention this is basically the movie that rocketed Paul Giamatti's (Pig Vomit's) career. He's awesome in it. Its a shame I dont like Stern as much as I used to probably because during the presidential race his show got really boring and repetitive. How can someone think that Bush is targetting him specifically?? Oh well I wont get into a Stern rant because this is about the movie which is awesome, and not the man.

The Sixth Sense

This is an awesome movie which probably would have gotten a 10/10 if it was the first time I saw it. Nowadays the ol' surprise ending is very common and people end up trying to guess what it is the whole time. Especially with Shyamalan movies because they know its coming eventually. Anyway everyone knows this is the movie about the kid seeing dead people and then the big kicker within the final 10 minutes. Its a cool movie to watch even when you know how its gonna end and its actually interesting to watch it when you already know. Either way, all M Night movies have been great so far.

Monty Python's The Meaning Of Life

Not as funny as Holy Grail and probably not as funny as And Now For Something Completely Different. And I never saw Life Of Brian so this one is the 3rd funniest movie from Monty Python. Its all about the meaning of life obviously and its just ridiculous.

Goodfellas

Best mob movie ever.
Martin Scorcese's gangster masterpiece about the true story of Henry Hill. Of course with the likes of Bob Deniro, Joe Pesci, and Ray Liota. If you have never seen this movie then do yourself a favor and go to a place where movies are bought or rented and buy it or rent it and WATCH IT! It is a DELIGHT!

The Transporter 2

It was everything is set out to be, a mindless action flick with ridiculous fights, car chases, and storyline. But you know what, its exactly what I expected and exactly what I wanted to see. Jason Statham is a badass, pure and simple. And his kick style of fighting is awesome. There are some dumb ridiculously unbelievable scenes that just make you laugh but it doesnt matter. It adds some humor to things. You have to see this crazy hose fight scene.

Man on Fire (9/10)

I just decided to pop this movie in tonight because I wanted to watch something from my collection of DVD's I have not yet seen. All I gotta say is this movie was fuckin awesome. The story was great, the action was great, and the ending was 100% satisfying. Denzel can basically be in any movie and it is guaranteed to be good. Plus it's got the Walken factor and with these two forces alone, you have the formula for pure movie excellence. You gotta see this movie because it was that friggin good.

Raising Arizona

Funny Coen Brothers movie starring the one and only Nicolas Cage. John Goodman is also in it as an escaped prisoner. The story is about a criminal and a cop getting married but are unable to have kids. They steal a baby from newly born quintuplets of a rich guy in town and raise it as their own. People start getting suspicious and hear about a $25,000 reward for the baby's return. Its got funny moments especially when John Goodman is in the scene.

The Blues Brothers

They're on a mission from God.... to get their band back together. John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd are Joliet Jake and Elwood Blues, criminals running from the law, causing a record setting amount of car crashes, while playing gigs to raise money for their orphanage. Its classic, its musical, and its funny. Belushi is one of my all time favs even though he only made a few movies before dying (2 years after the movie came out). Animal House and this movie are all it took for him to become a legend.... oh yeah and all that hilarious SNL shit.

Red Eye

While my Internet was down yesterday, I decided to watch Red Eye when I got home from work. It was only an hour and 20 minutes so it flew by. My bro saw it and said it wasnt that good but I enjoyed it. It was Wes Craven's attempt at a thriller instead of a horror movie. Its basically just Cillian Murphy and Rachel McAdams the whole time but it also does have Brian "O'Hagan" Cox in a small part. The two meet on a plane and hit it off until he reveals he is basically a terrorist planning an assassination and needs her to help him out or he will kill her father, O'Hagan. She attempts many ways to get out of this deal and thrilling moments ensue.

Fever Pitch

It wasnt as good as other Farrelly Brothers movies (Theres Something About Mary, Kingpin, Dumb & Dumber, Shallow Hal, Me Myself & Irene) but it still had its moments and it was cool because it was a sports movie. They had a lot of actual footage from last year's Red Sox season which was fun to watch. If you dont know what this movie is then its a comedy about a dude obsessed with the Boston Red Sox (hasnt missed a home game in 11 years) who tries to have a meaningful relationship even though he puts the Red Sox before everything in his life. Jimmy Fallon was actually pretty funny in it and I basically hate him in anything else. Drew Barrymore was annoying like usual but not as much as in other movies. I would recommend checking it out.

Adaptation

WOW! What a fuckin weird movie. I have been wanting to see this forever. It from screenwriter Charlie Kaufman who did Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine. In this movie he's actually the main character (played by Nicolas Cage). The whole story is about him trying to write the screenplay for a movie that is being adapted from a book. He has a lot of trouble and he's a fuckin weirdo which doesnt help much. Nicolas Cage and Chris Cooper were amazing in it. Cooper actually won an Oscar for his performance. Dude Cage can fuckin act! I dont care what you naysayers say about him.

It wasn't really that great. I thought cooler stuff would happen. I did go in knowing it's more of a movie about a trial than a horror flick. It just wasn't very interesting.

The Monster Squad

Dude, its a movie that couldnt be made in this day and age but I'm glad it was done when it was. This is an 80s movie to every extent, Bad jokes, one liners, the steretypical cast, and music. The only recognizable face in the whole movie was known other than Wayne Arnold from The Wonder Years. And he's only in it for 5 minutes. Its about a group of kids obsessed with monsters when all of a sudden they become real and try to take over. Yeah cheesiness ensues but its all in good fun for an classic 80s flick. Frankenstein is supposed to kill the kids but becomes their friend with no explanation given.

What 80s movie should I get next..... Howard the Duck???!
