Trailer Park Boys

A friend of mine recommended this to me. It's a mockumentary style show about a guy that just got out of prison and moved back to his trailer park. I barely paid attention during the first season, but Bubbles gets more air time in the 2nd season and totally steals the show. I think I'm going to go back and watch season 1 again since theres only 6 episodes.

Man that show was huge up here (it was made in Nova Scotia). So many great characters. Bubbles, Ricky, Julian, Mr. Lahey, Randy, J-Roc, Corey+Trevor. So good.

HBO movie that premieres on Monday night.
Hemingway and Gellhorn with Clive Owen and Nicole Kidman. Looks like a war story mixed with a love story. I'll be checking it out because Hey, Its not TV, Its HBO.

After the last Smodcast that i typed about in the Thread about Anything ("Fat Man on Batman"), i decided to download the entire Batman animated series. Man, i had forgotten how great this show is. Kevin Smith is right in that this is a show written more like a movie and marketed towards a more mature audience. I'm up to the first Clay Face two-parter and it's actually shocking how good it is compared to some of the stuff on TV today. "Heart of Ice" is stellar as well. Even my wife, who is not a comic fan or a batman fan, made the comment that it's a very good show.

I'd recommend that if you haven't watched it in a while, give it another shot.

I've been DVRing these since they started reairing on The Hub, but I haven't watched many. I still stand by the fact that Mask of the Phantasm is the best Batman movie before Batman Begins.

I watched this cartoon called Motorcity last night on Disney XD. I set the DVR for it, but not sure if I'll stick with it. It looked pretty awesome, lots of cool animation, some decent CG car stuff, and really nice character design, which is why I decided to watch it. It seems standard cartoon fare though in regards to the story. I'll give it another shot though, because it does look really cool.

its a pretty incredible episode. some of my favs are "sideshow", "the lion and the unicorn" any of the ones with raz algul are great and also "the cat and the claw". i mean honestly, there aren't a lot of episodes I don't like..

i also agree with phil that batman mask of the phantasm was the best batman movie before begins. still awesome.

I need to get the box sets. Like every other kid in the 90s, I loved the Batman cartoon.

Brave and the Bold is really enjoyable too. It's a lot less serious, but still great.

the box sets are only like $15 each. There are 4, but the 4th one is all the newer shit when the animation changed and all that shit.

One show that I have been wanting to watch from beginning to end is The State.
My brother had the DVD set and was selling all his DVDs so I jumped on it and took it for myself.
Watched Season 1 today, only 5 episodes. Its so ridiculously great.

If you don't remember its a sketch comedy show from MTV in the 90s. The guys from STELLA and Reno 911 make up the cast.
Its like SNL but with their ridiculous styled, barely making sense sometimes, comedy. My kinda show.

Watched a few episodes of this cartoon called Motorcity. Comes on Disney XD and while I'm not quite sure what it's about, it's got a bunch of dudes driving around in cars looking sweet. The art and animation in it is awesome. I just like watching it to look at it. There are usually a handful of really awesome animated sequences an episode. You don't really see this stuff on TV outside of Avatar.

edit: I just realized I wrote the same exact thing about Motorcity like 6 posts before this. Thought I felt deja vu writing that up.

I also watched two episodes of Batman TAS today. One was about the Joker and how he was getting revenge on a bunch of comedians. I was half paying attention to it. It was okay. The first one I watched was where Harley Quinn is freed from Arkham and kidnaps Bruce's sorta girlfriend. I really liked that one. Also, Dante should watch this episode because it's sorta secretly about why Batman doesn't kill anyone. He basically gets involved for the sake of Harley so that she doesn't get into any more trouble because he wants her to lead a good life. Batman believes people can change. I love Batman.

Louie was great.
One that I really loved was when they made fun of MTV Sports and Dan Cortese. It cracked me up because I remember that shit.
Oh and Michael Showalter as Doug. I'm outta heeeeeeee... eeeereee.

Ken Marino stars in a new web series called Burning Love.
Its a spoof of The Bachelor. 3 episodes released so far. Only watched one but its pretty funny.
Also has Michael Ian Black, Kristen Bell, Malin Akerman, Ben Stiller and some other familiar faces.

I was late to the party on this one. This miniseries aired on History channel last week. Hatfields & McCoys, about the true story of the battling families.
It got insane ratings and I heard people talking about it. So I popped it On Demand last night.
Well I only watched Part 1 so far. Each of the 3 parts are close to 2 hours so its a real investment.
