We were talking about these guys in another thread but I thought they deserved their own so it would be easier to find. Be warned though that their homepage often moves incredibly slow.

Its a comedy trio, one of which is currently on SNL (Andy Samberg).

Here's the show they tried to shop to a few cable channels.

Its pretty goddamn hilarious.

And here's a series of shorts they made called The 'Bu.

Yeah, I love those guys. I can't believe one is on SNL right now... kinda stinks, cause the team is from LA, guess this means they're sorta broke up?

I watched 6 eps of the Bu a while back, not sure if there are more but I loved it. Just 2 Guys is freaking great as well. Oh, and the Backseatsman is pretty damn funny too.

Anyway, I wasn't to big a fan at first, but I was converted.

someone said they all got jobs at SNL but only Andy is acting and the others are doing small writing parts. Like that Narnia Rap that Chris Parnell and Andy Samberg did was apparently written by the 3 Dudes plus Parnell and directed by the one dude that always directs, Akiva.

And as for The 'Bu, it never ended. The last episode is a song about how they didnt do The 'Bu that month.

Sweet. I just went over to their site and found out SNL hired all three of them! Fantastic. The other two of the Dudes are writers. Man, maybe SNL might actually be funny for the first time in... how long has it been since Farrly and Sandler were on together? Good job for the Lonely Island. I want to watch AwesomeTown when I go home tonight.

big news for the lonely island dudes...
from joblo.com

What was once planned as a starring role for "Saturday Night Live" BMOC Will Ferrell has shifted over to SNL's latest star Andy Samberg. Samberg has signed on to star in HOT ROD with Lorne Michaels producing and his SNL buddies Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer co-starring and directing respectively. Samberg, Taccone and Schaffer were part of the comedy troupe Lonely Island before being picked up by SNL. In the film, Samberg will star as a danger-prone daredevil wanna-be who wants to jump Snake River on a moped to impress Evel Knievel and win the love of his stepfather. As I'm sure you all know by now, Samberg shot to fame almost overnight after the "Lazy Sunday" digital short debuted on SNL. It was really only a matter of time before Michaels found a theatrical vehicle for Samberg while SNL goes on hiatus. HOT ROD will begin filming this July for Paramount.

The Lazy Sunday rap (Chronic-what-cles of Narnia) with Sandberg and Parnell was the funniest thing to be on SNL in probably decades.

A Note From The Dudes

Hi everyone. It's us, The Dudes. First off, we just wanted to say hi. Next, we're sorry we've been so MIA as of recently. It basically went like this: We did the last episode of the '05-'06 SNL season on May 20th, then flew to Vancouver to re-write a movie entitled "Hot Rod". We started shooting it on July 24th, wrapped on Sept 23, flew back to NY on the 24th and started the new season SNL on the 25th.

Shooting the movie was very fun and very crazy and surreal. Paramount and the producers were surprisingly cool about all the weirder stuff we wanted to do, they let us shoot a lot of very silly stuff, which was cool. Sissy Spacek and Ian McShane play Jorm and Andy's parents, which is very cool. Danny McBride, Bill Hader and Isla Fisher play their friends/love interests, which is very very cool. And Kiv got to direct the whole thing, which was crazy/cool (/sexy TLC ya'll!). (Also, Chris Parnell, Will Arnett, and the rock and roll band GOWN (Queens Of The Stone Age? get details here) all did scenes, which was cool as shit.)

In any case, we apologize for our past, current and future absence. And we will do our best in the future to actually make something of value to post. After the next two SNL episodes, we will start editing the movie on all breaks from the show, so that will eat up most of our time. But hopefully the movie is kick-ass and makes it all worth it. But even if it sucks, at least we got to make a movie, which is pretty effing rad!

Loveways and forever,

The Dudes

PS: Here are some pictures.

And the latest Digital Short from the season premiere of SNL with Dane Cook.

nope.
when i click the links it takes me exactly where i wanna go.
you better look into an adware/spyware type problem for your internet explorer.

if you really want to see them then copy and paste them into your browser instead of clicking the link.

wow.... all the LI stuff on SNL is genius.
they should just try to create their own show again like when they tried to pitch Awesometown to FOX and Comedy Central.
