I finally finished Uncharted 3 yesterday. Glad I jumped back in after like a month off because some of those later chapters were incredible. There were some amazing graphics happening as well. I did say "Wow."
One thing I liked about this game that maybe they could have played up even more were the changing environments during gun fights, I thought that was a really cool take on the cover based shooter thing. For example when you're on the ship, at one point waves are flying into the ship and moving all of your hiding spots all over the place. It was really neat. I feel like that was ND's new trick with this game, the way that environments change and how Nate behaves on them. They did this in U2 on the train, but they expanded that idea a lot with this, like the entire ship section, horse/jeep chase, and the final stage crumbling under Nate's feet. Probably a programming nightmare but easily the highlights of the game.
I noticed they also did a few things to force 3D as well, like the vertical cover shooting sections, so that when you kill a bad guy they fall towards your face. Kind of would have liked to have seen this thing in 3D.
That said, I think I can wait on the next Uncharted, and if it comes for PS4, well, so be it, it'll be a long time before I play that. Great trilogy on the PS3 though, and certainly like the highlight of PS exclusives.
