I've been putting off playing this game until the semester is over, and I want to play it so god damn bad. This game has to have one of the most generally positive receptions of any game I've seen, at least in recent memory. Everyone loves the Dovahkin.

People are dumb. There's plenty to complain about with this game. I feel like I want to play it less and less every time I boot it up. I love the well written quest lines, but there's still so much boring shit, and melee combat is stupid and easy and not fun.

Are you playing on PC or PS3? I hear the PS3 version becomes unplayable as your save file gets bigger. I'm sorta interested in playing this game just because of all the hype, but PS3 is the only way I can go. Well I can go Xbox but that thing will explode at any minute.

There is plenty to complain about, but I don't think any of it ruins the experience. Sure the melee combat isn't great, and an open world fantasy game with great melee combat is pretty much my dream game, but it's passable, especially for an RPG. It's still mainly about leveling your dude up to kill things over out fighting them. My only serious complaint is the terrible UI on PC. Such a pain in the ass.

Phil, I'm playing it on PC dude. Don't touch that PS3 version until they patch the hell out of it.

When this game is good, it's goooood. I still enjoy Fallout wayyyy more though. Part of it is the setting and what they do with it. I wish Skyrim had even more crazy magical shit besides whoa monsters. There's still too many dull caves, despite every 10 caves running into an awesome one with a new shout or something at the end.

Isn't that a bit of an unrealistic expectation though? Like you said, there are a lot of great, bigger caves to explore, especially in comparison to the shitty Oblivion, but in a world that enormous, is it really too bad that a lot of the caves are...caves?

I think so. Just cut some of them. There are still sooo many caves. I'd rather have nothing there than something that turns out to be so disappointing 9 times out of 10.

I think we might be looking for different games.

It isn't like you're forced to explore all of those caves.

If you only want to do that stuff, just follow the quest markers and don't do any exploring.

There are plenty of cool things outside of the caves.

See, but I want to see all the cool shit I can, and if I forgot to talk to that one guy, or read that one book, I may not even get said quest marker. So I must search.

You have already established that caves are not cool though...so you can skip them.

I guess I'm just hitting the point of diminishing returns. At first everywhere I went was like whoaoaoaoaoaooa, but after your dude becomes stronger and you've explored a much bigger portion of the map, it's harder to find the meaningful content. I've come across some stuff now that probably would have been incredible earlier in the game, but at this point is a breeze. I don't think I've found half of the cool shit in the game, but it seems like it's harder to get to now.

Nate you crazay. I'm still loving it and I've spent a ton of time. It's at the point where, if I want to, I can summon 2 Dremora Lords that just fuck up everything.

I'm gonna stay with it, but right now I'm in kind of a rut.

What's your time played? I'm trying to find mine on PS3 but I can't. It's been a long ass time though.
