Pfft, you just don't have those 1337 skills.

My solution in uncharted was to get my reticle dude level and then move drake left-right until it lined up. Things I learned in Halo. Snipping was a completely different story. Got frustrated pretty bad in a few spots. Turning up aim sensitivity definitely helped.

Might as well if the game has input lag anyways.

I used to do then when I played a lot of CoD, and it was terrible. It works for some games, but it's really ineffective in that game because everything moves so fast. Strafing instead of shifting your aim gives the other dude enough time to destroy you. God, I miss a good game of duty.

One of the devs made a post on gaf looking for people in the area that were having aiming problems that could come in and try to recreate the problem. That's some cool beans.

I saw this and thought it was cool, but why do they need someone to recreate the problem? Just fucking turn the game on and do it yourself. If they can't spot the problem on their own, what the fuck are they doing over there?

Maybe it's a weird glitch on some set ups, or maybe they're just looking for feedback.

Besides feeling the delay/dead zone on smaller movements, that picture sums up how aiming as a whole felt to me. There were so many times where I was aimed right next to someones head, and I just could not get the cursor to move a little big diagonally. It just wouldn't go!

Yeah I'm feeling that too. I'm about 4-5 hours in and not enjoying it as much as 2, but still like it a lot.

I have to say that I have this game and it is still in its shrink wrap....

That is what happens when you buy "Batman: Arkham City", "Dark Souls", and "Uncharted 3" all at the same time.... I am beating Batman first, because, well, because it is Batman :D I was initially just doing a blow threw it playstyle, but I have been sidetracked by lots of the things you can do, and even have been doing several of the challenges/tests (hey, I can fly/glide pretty darn well now).

That said, this WILL be opened this weekend.

Yes, I beat Uncharted 2 at least 3 times (maybe a 4th as well). Never played the first though...

You know, this Christmas season is just killing me on video games.... I mean where were all these last year or the year before? Aside from the 3 I already mentioned, we then have Zelda, Skyrim, and Assassin's Creed. I am sure there will be one or two others, in my case, Rocksmith looks awesome!

I've actually heard really good things about Rocksmith.

I'm shocked you beat Uncharted 2 a couple of times.

dante i did that part in your GIF you posted the othe night and it was fantastic.

i feel like this one the baddies just bum rush you alot more. like, they just run up to you guns blazing. the maps seems more open and encourage you to move around in a particular area alot. just last night i got up to the ghost town in the dessert and fought some baddies. i was getting into that part. thought it was pretty cool.

oh, and i think they changed elana's face a bit. her eyes in particular look more almond shaped. not sure if i like the design change there. drake however looks awesome in most of the cut scenes.

me am love it.

i tossed in the first one last night and ran through a few chapters. first they really did push the boundaries with the graphics. they're really shiny and plastic looking in the first one. there was also alot of collision (arm joins and the like) that they ironed out in the third one. the animation is still really good, but even that has been pushed to a higher level in the 3rd. the environments arent as lush as the newer ones either. i also noticed that i was able to just smoke the bad guys. the are no where near as hard as they are in the third. they actually kind of run around like their in molasses.

in short, ND really did step it up. i want to play the third one again like right now. then maybe the second one.

Finally broke the shrink warp on it this weekend. I'm not digging the aiming. I need to check to see if there is a sensitivity adjustment that can be made, as it simply moves way too much for how hard I am pushing on the stick....

I'm not sure how the patch was handled, but I believe that you can toggle the new aiming settings somewhere in the options....somewhere.

Yeah, I found the sensitivity controls and things work a LOT better now. Still working on it though as the setting that lets me actually fine tune aim keeps me from being able to quickly switch targets to another location. Basically what I need to be able to do is have it accelerate more when I move the stick farther in a specific direction, but it seems to be more of an all or nothing with the max aim move speed tied directly to the minimum aim movement speed, when I want the maximum aim movement to stay the same, but simply adjust the minimum aim movement so it doesn't move halfway across the screen the moment I touch the stick.

Anyway, that rant done, I too just made it past the GIF clip. It was pretty good, and I really liked some of the fights. That said, they really have the body armor thing out of control. I mean, if I shot you with a grenade launcher, you would be down for the count, body armor or no body armor, at the very minimum you would get knocked down/blown back.... Then again, Drake simply auto-healing is a little much as well....

Finally started this last night.

As much as I love Zelda and think it looks great, coming off of that and coming into this really is night and day. Dem was watching the intro when I started it up. Once I started controlling the action she said "This is what the game looks like?" and I said "yeah." She was pretty blown away by it.

My first thought of getting control over Nate was "I guess Naughty Dog played a lot of Batman." Opening with a brawling scene was different, and to be honest, it did make me respect the combat in Batman more. Hand to hand combat has never been a strong suit in Uncharted though. I was also just kind of surprised how long it actually took for them to put a gun in Nate's hand this time around.

The intro with young Nate and Sully was great. It's still one of the few games where I just love the story and the characters. The game has already has too much of the "follow this path and don't you dare get off track" type moments. The chase scene with young Nate on the rooftops was both intense and frustrating. When you're hitting all the right beats it of course works great, but the moment you become confused as to where to go, you're dead. I hate that. I hate the complete lack of freedom.

But I could have just kept playing this all night. Love me some Uncharted.

Played some of this for the first time in over a week. I was getting really frustrated with the citadel escape sequence. It's the part where Sully is shooting the rockets down at all the bad guys and you have to make your way towards what Nate thinks is the entrance to a tomb (right before Charlie gets the dart in the neck and wants to kill Nate).

This part really pissed me off. I wasn't sure if I should fight, or run, and both methods I was met with issues. I tried to fight and they just kept coming from every single direction. I think they were respawning. So then I tried to run for it, but since there were so many bad guys I was getting raped. So then I tried to balance fighting and running, but I had no fucking idea of where to head. I made my way towards a door that had a light shining on it and nothing happened. I ran around like an idiot and died. I repeat the whole thing, and I worm my way back to that door again, only this time it magically gets shot at by Sully and opens up for me. Really? What the fuck. I did this part for maybe 15 minutes and I was getting more and more mad. Even when the part ended I was mad because I couldn't believe the exit was where I looked the first time. This kind of shit is what I hate about the Uncharted games. I swear Uncharted 1 isn't as bad as 2 and 3 in this department, but I could be wrong (I don't think I am).

The burning building scene was pretty amazing though. It had its frustrating parts too, but it played out much more clear than this part, which should have been pretty simple.

Speaking of the dart in the throat, I like how the bad guy saying "Don't trust Nate" was taken as "Please kill Nate." I mean, all he says is don't trust him, and then five minutes later the guy is trying to kill Nate.
