It just needs a thread.

The micro-transaction store is deviously brilliant. A lot/most of the things in their seem grossly overpriced, but its not a huge deal since its possible to get most the items in random drops, or through crafting. HOWEVER! There's an item called a crate, that you have to open to get an item inside. How do you open it? With a key...that costs $2.50. You can get those crates in random drops, but not a key. I have a crate. I will have a key, JUST THIS ONCE!

They also made buying shit like MS Points, where you have to add money to your wallet in $5 increments.

What the fuck? They specifically said that they weren't doing it like MS points...

I think you just get them when you craft that thing. I don't think you can find them or anything. Use a wiki.

Yeah this is really cool stuff. TONS of new items for every class! And you can still get all of it by crafting and finding items!

Dude, I'm the worst. I was setting up a trade for my pyro Napper's Respite for Bill's Hat. I had the guy ready and waiting for the deal, but I was waiting on possibly getting a croc hat, which later fell through. My plan was to tell the Bill's Hat guy that someone bid 2 hats, in hopes he would also offer his earbuds, which I saw him do in a different thread. I'm telling my super secret trading strategy to my friend in another window, but...oh fuck. I'm typing all this in the wrong chat window. I had to settle for Bill's out of shame.

Through my long day of trading, I have:

Old Guadalajara
Magistrate's Mullet
Bill's Hat
Tippler's Tricorne
another crate

Boom.

For whatever dumb reason, Valve didn't put an 'invite only' option in L4D2. Please don't randomly hop in my games without messaging me first, as I'm probably playin with friends. Thanks!

Well feel free to toss out some things you'd be willing to part with for the knife.

I haven't followed any of the changes to these games.... I have both TF2 and L4D2.... What is the deal? How does "crafting" actually work?

You "find" weapons, hats, items, just by playing the game. They're put in your backpack, and you can take doubles of class weapons, etc, and craft them down into scrap metal, hats, all sorts of stuff.

The system makes it so difficult to get anything. It takes two weapons of the same class to make one scrap metal. It takes 3 scrap metal to make a reclaimed metal. 3 reclaimed metals make a refined metal, and 3 refined metals make a random hat. That's over 50 random drops, which don't happen super often, to make one random hat, that might be awful.

Negatory. But the axetinguisher is by far the best pyro weapon. Pair with the degreaser for ultimate pwnage.
