well that was just what that particular mode in multiplayer was called in empire earth. you basically just started with an assload of resources and you just built monstrous armies and it went really fast, but was really fun. but if there are custom games then thats pretty damn cool.

I think Dante would get a kick out of the custom games more than the regular game. If you guys do end up getting it, try out Hero Wars or Tower Defense. You don't need to know anything about RTS to play those games. In fact, it takes a while to learn up the rules on the custom games because they're so unique.

RTS stands for Real Time Strategy.

I'm listening to the new Blizzcast right now. Apparently there are new "Challenge Modes" in the game that teaches you most stuff that helps you in multiplayer and how to play rather than just relying on the campaign to teach new players.

Man, this game is amazing. And I didn't even get to play online yet... The only thing that sucks is that my computer takes a million years to load a mission. Dammit... Maybe I should just purchase a couple more gigs of RAM..

I suggest you don't spell out your email like that on here. The bots are gonna get you.

My screen name is the same name I have on here. Except no space in the middle.

Eh, it just comes with practice. And I feel SC is less micro intensive than Warcraft 3. Of course, micro still matters but you don't have heros to deal with.

i think thats what we were playing yesterday... for 10 straight hours. It was pretty cool. Some of the gold medals are ridiculous.

My character code is 741. I think I'm just going to edit the original post with everyone's screen name and ID code.

Alright, I tried playing some multiplayer last night. The game is running kind of shitty for me. I am well within the recommended specs for my machine. I don't know what it is. I started to turn all the extra crap off that's a burden on my CPU. I didn't think this game would be THAT resource intensive. Anyone else have problems? The game also takes ages to load into a map.

Here are my system specs:

3.0Ghz Intel duo core
2 GB 1200mhz DDR2 RAM
512 MB ATI 4850 HD
Creative X-fi xtremegamer fatal1ty pro

When I first started the game, it automatically set everything to ultra settings. I moved some down to high but now I started moving stuff to medium settings. I also turned off physics and post processing. I turned off 3D unit portraits and I turned off the music. Next thing I might turn off is reflection if things still don't run as well as I want it to.

So are any of you guys having problems? What are your PC specs? The only thing I can think of that's a drain on system resources is Windows 7. I'm running Windows 7 pro 64bit. So that might have something to do with it. I remember SF4 ran fine on my computer when I was using XP. I had almost all the settings maxed and it ran fine. Then I installed Windows 7 and suddenly, the game is choppy now and it runs like shit, even after I bumped down all the settings. So maybe Windows 7 is the culprit.

Alright, I think the problem is just that I need more RAM because Windows 7 is probably hogging up a lot more resources than XP so the game is forced to use virtual memory and have to dump information onto the HD which causes the massive slowdowns.

Yeah I was gonna say about the RAM, I have the same CPU and Graphics card as you but I'm running 6GB of RAM.

Alright, I just ordered 4 more GBs of RAM. Unfortunately, the ones I have in my PC are no longer being manufactured... I had to get some PC8500 instead of PC9600. But having the RAM run at a slightly slower rate is fine.
