Nice PS+ day. RE Directors Cut, RE2, and RE3 are all free PS1 downloads. I'll be snagging them all. I almost bought RE3 because I've never played that one before. Pretty cool. Also, RE4 is 50% for its first week making it 10 bucks. Is it sad I'm tempted to buy RE4 for a third time?

I'm right there on the sad boat with you man. RE4 is worth it.

I love Director's cut for the terrible voice acting. Wesker lol. "HERE JILL, YOU, THE MASTER OF PICKING LOCKS, SHOULD TAKE THIS LOCKPICK." RE2 was one of the first games on PSX that i really got into. Love it.

Here you go Nate

Quote:
Sony is continuing to take the initiative to bolster its PlayStation Network following the disastrous hack earlier this year. Not only did Sony add another $20 million this summer to a Pub Fund it started a couple years ago, but today the company announced a new "Only On PlayStation Network" program to stress its flow of exclusive gaming content.

Starting on October 4, every Tuesday in the month will see several new exclusives on PSN, including Pub Fund titles like Eufloria and Okabu, as well as inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood and PixelJunk Sidescroller. And the program will also feature a selection of "rare classic games" added to the store on October 4, including God Hand, GrimGrimoire, Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, Odin Sphere and Ring of Red.

Consumers who are PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive a 20% discount during the launch week of each “Only On PSN” game. On top of that, if you spend $60 or more out of your PlayStation Network/Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) Wallet throughout the month of October, you'll be able to receive a $10 store credit towards purchases in November. This promotion isn't limited to just games - spending can be on add-ons, PlayStation Home micro-transactions, TV shows, movies, Music Unlimited subscriptions, etc.

“‘Only On PlayStation Network’ is our line of great exclusive games that users can count on to deliver exciting game experiences that can’t be found anywhere else,” said Susan Panico, senior director of PlayStation Network, SCEA. “This strong initial content offering, combined with the day one discounts for PlayStation Plus subscribers and the ‘Spend $60, Get $10 Back’ promotion, makes PlayStation Network the premier destination for digital content.”

The lineup in the program is as follows: October 4 - Eufloria and Rochard; October 11 - Sideway: New York; October 13 - Sodium Collection; October 18 - Okabu and RocketBirds; October 25 - inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood and PixelJunk Sidescroller.

IndustryGamers spoke with Susan Panico about the program and Sony's continued push for exclusives. We'll be bringing you that soon.

Really like the idea of featuring rare games. Hopefully they're priced right. Cool stuff.

Apparently the PS2 games are going to be 10 bucks a pop, so PS+ members will get them for 8.

Never underestimate the power of the GOD HAND.

Odin Sphere and God Hand are 2 of my favorite PS2 games. Not sure how they ended up getting picked, but they are both steals at $10. That's a really bizarre mix of kind of obscure games. I don't think they'll sell well at all, but I appreciate the gesture.

This will give me a chance to get a copy of GrimGrimoire. It's a weird side scrolling RTS by Vanillaware. Came out around the same time as Odin Sphere.

Yeah I'm curious about that one myself. I've listened to the soundtrack to it recently and it's tops.

You know, I have no reason to buy another game for a while. I have freaking 13 free games I've gotten off PS+ that I've downloaded and haven't even installed. It's just madness. And I don't even grab all of them either. At least it's been a hell of a deal.

What flavor of HDD is in the PS3? Is it a laptop sized HDD or a standard sized one? I just realized i have several standard HDD's sitting around that are MUCH MUCH larger than the HDD in my PS3, and i may as well try to replace it if it's possible. Anyone done this before?

it's a laptop harddrive. And yes it's simple as long as you have a usb hard drive big enough to back your data up on before doing the swap.

I tried to that last week and it didn't recognize the USB drive. I think its needs to be formatted to FAT32 or some shit?

Why do you need to buy a new external? Just reformat it to FAT32.

I guess in honor of Uncharted 3, all four Naughtydog Crash Bandicoot games are free downloads for PS+ users. I grabbed Crash 2, 3 and Racing. Who knows if I'll ever play them. They've been added to my growing list of free PS1 games that haven't even been installed. I'm currently sitting on Jet Moto, Resident Evil 1, 2, 3, Medievil, and now these.

Crash racing is next on the list!

I tried out Jet Moto for a minute as well... jesus christ. What a nightmare. I spent more time downloading these games then actually playing them. Also tried out a bunch of Minis for maybe a minute that I will never play again.
