I know, getting old and fat is not something i suggest.... Your body just says "fuck you" when you try to make it work.

If you skip exercises, will you still get credit for doing the workout?
I have 8 workouts left I think, but my knees are fucking killing me. Every other exercise is a lunge/squat/jump and I feel it's starting to fuck up my knees so I want to skip a few of them. Last night I ripped the skin open on my feet from doing mountain climbers on my carpet. I'm going to try wearing shoes tonight, but I think it's going to feel odd.

I just want to say fuck this game, but I'm so close to completing the 9 week challenge I don't want to stop now.

Yeah you can skip exercises and get credit for it. I won't lie, I do it quite often. I mean really, how many foot fires, jump lunges and mountain biking can you do before your knees are about to blow out? I try not to skip, but sometimes it happens.

Thats crazy about ripping your skin open. I use a yoga mat for stuff like footfires or when I have to lie down since I don't have a carpet in my living room, well aside from an area rug which has no padding. Maybe look into it?

I hear you on the 9 week thing. I think I have the same amount of work outs left. I actually cheated a bit this time around. I fell behind during the week before and after Halloween so the next time I played I just selected my missed workouts and hit "quit workout" the moment it started. I think I still got credit for them. Now I'm back where I should be.

Anyway I think I'm starting to get burnt out on this game as well. Not sure how much I'll continue once this 9 weeker ends.

Man mario is tomorrow? I may have to hold off a bit. I did just buy COD even tho I traded some stuff in. But I had to re-up my xbox live.

Yeah dude it's the start of the Nintendo triple threat. Mario this week, Zelda next, then two weeks after that it's Kart. And then thats probably it for months from them.

Awesome man, congrats.

I wrapped up my second 9 week last week, but I didn't do a very good job. I'd say I skipped about 8 or 9 of the workouts. I'm pretty burnt out on the game myself. I'm debating if I want to start another program next week. I might only because I still don't have time or money to go to the gym, and if I don't I'll end up doing nothing. Rather be doing this shit than no shit.

Decided to start doing Active again after not doing much of anything for a month a half. I'm not so sure I gained much weight (need to weigh myself) but I've been feeling awful again. I can't believe how far back I've gone after just a few weeks off.

So I started out with a mental issue. It asked if I wanted to start my program on medium or hard. Last time I did it, I chose hard. I wanted to choose hard because I felt like I could still do it, but I decided to go with medium just in case. I'm glad I picked medium, because I was already out of breath not even 10 minutes in the 25 minute routine. I couldn't believe it. Not only that, but my heart rate spiked pretty much instantly. I can't believe how far I've fallen in such a short period of time.

I guess the good thing is that it reminded me that I was getting into decent shape. I could go for a long period of time without getting tired. Sometimes because the progress is so slight, you're not really sure if you've made any real improvements, but now I know for a fact that I did, because I should have been able to smoke my first workout.

Anyway I'm really achy today as a result. Gonna get back in there tonight. The days of doing nothing must come to an end for good.

I ate like a fucking pig tonight. Two huge helpings of the main meal, lots of bread and then a decent sized cake ball and a strawberry cupcake. I felt like a disaster, but I had to do to EA Active tonight. I got a cramp in my side 10 minutes into it, but I prevailed. I still feel like a stuffed pig. I don't know what came over me. I burned 180 calories tonight, which probably doesn't even make up for the cake ball.

Yeah they're awesome. My sister has recently gotten into making crazy cupcakes and treats like cake balls. It's so hard to turn down those treats since they're not store bought garbage snacks (though still absolutely awful for you). Dem has also made them before but they were slightly different. She made cake pops, which is kind of the same idea only they were smaller and they have a stick.

I haven't posted in this thread in forever because I've stopped playing EA Active, for now anyway, I might go back one day. Maybe. Instead I've been doing P90X thanks to some copies that John gave me. I haven't been doing it hardcore and following the schedule like you're supposed to, but I try to do at least 3 or 4 workouts from it a week. It's been really hard, but I think I'm getting better at it. There were some routines I couldn't finish at first that I can now get through. It's crazy how much harder this is than doing EA Active. EA Active was so much harder than Wii Fit.... I don't think I could ever go back to Wii Fit. It's a great beginner tool, and I love using the scale to weigh myself and track it, but yeah, it just doesn't compare.

One reason I loved doing exercise video games was because I loved all the stat tracking. It made me feel like I was accomplishing something. I thought I was really going to miss that stuff moving over to non interactive programs, but I've been enjoying it anyway. It feels much douchier doing these DVDs, but they're really tough and I get way more out of it I think. Tony Horton cracks me up though because he's such an ass, so he's a good trade off for the video game coaches.

So far I've managed to come down to 150 pounds according to Wii Fit, which means I'm realistically about 155, I think Wii Fit is slightly off. It's cool being able to scroll back on the diagram to like three years ago to see when I weighed about 180. It's neat seeing it rise and fall and being able to associate it with what I was doing at that point in time. Like when I was laid off, my weight fell because I wasn't eating delicious lunches at Wegmen's daily, and then see a increase when I got a new job. Then when the babies were born and I wasn't doing any exercises I somehow lost weight, probably from just being that much more busy.

I've actually gained about 7 lbs now. I'm up to 145. It could be the job since I go out to eat pretty much every day for lunch. But I've also been going to the gym 4 times week with some pretty intense cardio on Fridays. So I'm hoping that extra weight is muscle and not fat. I don't look or feel fatter so I'm just going to assume it's muscle. I also upped the amount of weight I bench now to match my weight. I was only doing 135 before but I figured it was time to move up since I've gained weight. Moving up that extra 10lbs actually wasn't that bad. I might try 155 next time. Maybe I will finally reach my target weight of 150 by the end of the year.

How do you have time to go to the gym four days a week with a new born?

I go after work. Then I got home afterwards. It's better that way because there's so much damn traffic. The time I spend in at the gym, half of it would be sitting in traffic if I just went straight home. And sometimes, there still freaking traffic after I get out at around 7:00pm.

Oh okay.

I'd love to take some sort of karate class or something but aside from not having the money, I don't really have the time. I don't know what I want to do though. Maybe not Karate. I don't know what I'd want to learn, I just know I want to learn how to whoop someone if I ever needed to.
