Finally started playing Catherine tonight. It's pretty great! Some of the writing is a bit rough, but I really like all of the ideas. The core of the game is a fast paced box pushing puzzler, but there seems to be some unique stuff thrown in there too. I had fun texting my girlfriend in the bar and trying to find the best things to write back to her. I'm of course trying to get my character to be in the good zone.

Excited to keep playing this one. I hear it gets hard (and I started a game on Normal) so hopefully I don't get discouraged.

But the real question is, are there anime boobies?

I think I asked that before.

I picked up Dragon's Dogma this week and have been trying to find the time to play it. Gotta resist the siren song of Diablo. I have managed to get a few hours in and I'm really enjoying it. It's not without it's faults, but the things it does well it does really well. The combat is fantastic, There are loads of special moves you get to create your own unique fighting style, and from what I hear, they just get better and better. The pawn system is flawed, but I can see it becoming awesome as the game goes on. See, when you rest at an Inn, your AI controlled partner is released into the internet, where other players can invite them to play in their games. The cool thing is they learn about new quests and fighting techniques, and bring you back xp and items. Your pawns grow with and without your help.

The game also has a really great deliberate pace that reminds me of Demon's/Dark Souls. Enemies in this game can and will fuck you up, and when it gets dark out, it gets DARK. Which wouldn't be so bad, but all sorts of terrible things come out in the night. It's pretty intense.

People want to compare it to Skyrim all the time, and they do, but the games are not that similar. Skyrim is all about the lore, pretty much forsaking all else. Dragon's Dogma is all about the combat and atmosphere, and forgetting about the lore. I'd like the lore, but I'd rather have a competent game first, and Dragon's Dogma seems to deliver.

I've been watching streams of it here and there and it does look awesome. Combat looks so buttery smooth. I believe the game has the same director as DMC3.

One more thing that was funny. I just made it to the first major city last night and as I'm wandering around, I see that my pawns are picking up money from somewhere. When I turn around this is what I see.

HAhaha that's pretty funny. That game looks sweet. I hope it finds an audience, but I get the feeling the thing is going to mega bomb, especially coming out next to something like Diablo. I know, not the same console and all, but I feel like the audience for this sort of thing overlaps.

It's Japanese, so for most people that's where the line is drawn. To them Japanese = terrible.

Man, I hate those people.

More like Japanese = no one knows that it exists

It's Capcom though, so it stands a better chance at getting known than most Japanese software. Still, bomba.

The Japanese demo for Anarchy Reigns/Max Anarchy is live and it's glorious. I played it for over 2 hours last night. It's like a cross between Madworld and Power Stone with great online and amazing combat. Right now it's up in the air as to whether it's gonna come out over here or not, so I will definitely import this if I have to. It's all in english too, voices, menus and all.

Bought Fez. This game is pretty great. I love how it went from an innocent platformer to being fucking crazy with the puzzles. I got the first 32 cubes (a bit less than half were anti cubes for me). Fucking tremendous.

Hahaha, that's where I lost interest in it. I think that the puzzles he came up are impressive, but solving them seems like absolutely no fun. I got other games to play, I can't decode that game for the rest of my life.

There's some shit where I gave up and looked it up like the alphabet but I figured out the numbers and I figured out the left, right, up, down, LT, RT, A codes except for the A parts and the fact the you have to rotate your head to read it properly. Also it gets a bit easier cause you can fly. I'm sure I'll have to look more stuff up but that's fine.

Been playing Raid Mode on RE Revelations a lot lately. I've completed all the missions on easy and got an S rank on all of them. I thought I wouldn't want to move onto the Harder mode of them, but I have.

Getting the S Ranks is actually easy. Once you clear the game you've become so powerful that when you go back to early missions you just one shot the fuck out of everything. I have this insane machine gun that has a ridiculous fire rate. It takes out bosses in like five seconds. It has a semi-deep weapon system, but I've just stuck to handguns, machine gunes and sniper rifles. I upgraded them all with 80% stun rate so if the monsters dont drop I can walk up to them and punch them in the face. I also have so many herbs and crazy armor where even if I'm getting my ass kicked I can just power through it. Weird playing an RE game where you can just become a beast.

Currently playing Pokemon White, I finished the main story awhile ago so I've been working on trading to finish my pokedex. :D It's a long road, the random trading is pain in the butt because you have no idea what people want, they can put a little message in their trainer cards. I'm at like 300 pokemon out of 648. -Sigh-

Well that ban was never fully enacted. I just finished playing FFX13-2 so there was no reason for me to use it anymore since I use my computer for netflix.

I really don't have time to play it. Plus my internet here isn't very condusive to those games.
