In all fairness I did do a PUPD with Gears 3 tonight in Target. I probably wont be able to hold out much longer.

Also, get out your trackball bitches cause its about to be RTS time on the Game Club.

I never understood people and their trackballs for RTS, they're so inefficient...

I find them to be extremely efficient, since you can scroll around faster. I used to play FPS and MMOs with them too and they were great for doing 180 degree turns really really fast. I got accused of botting so many times because I was able to turn around quickly.

I feel like I would not have the pointing accuracy. I'm not a big fan of trackballs.

Eh, i've never played an fps or an MMO with them, they used to be pretty popular for RTS but they seem kind of obsolete for RTS now, most people get those custom mice?

It took me a while to get used to it, but after a while I think I was much more accurate actually.

Used to do that with the old style of mouse. Same deal. You just swipe the mouse, lift it off the pad and put it down when it's pointing where you need. You just can't do that stuff with these new fangled laser mice.

I voted Spiral Knights.

Met up with Spiker and Dante, thanks for joining dudes.

Man at first I didn't mind dying because it didn't cost much to come back to life, but the more you die the more expensive it gets to come back. I was totally raped. That horde didn't stop coming.

The Binding of Isaac came out and is $5 on steam if anyone is interested in playing that for this. I think some of the super meat boy dudes worked on it...I don't really know much about it.

Looks interesting. Heavy Zelda 1 influence on the dungeons, though it doesn't look similar to Zelda outside of that. Looks like the guy that did the character art for Meat Boy helped with this. Not the biggest fan of his art personally though.

I believe this may be one of the choices for the next EGGC. This one is Randy's pick for the two choices. I'm pretty sure this is going to be one of them

played some spiral knights tonight for a bit. for not having much of an idea of what i was doing outright, it was pretty easy to pick up and play. the designs were appealing and it controlled fairly well. it definately had a decent enough hook that entices players to just click around and see what does what, and the combat was light yet fun. i was at a bit of a loss as to what "energy" and "crowns" do, but energy seemed to be the game's currency to get you into deeper levels? i suppose if i had spent more time with it talking to NPCs i would've found out.

i basically did the tutorial level, and ran around a bit in what looks like the game's hub. i did one dungeon with some other people (at least i assume they were real people running with me). again, it was fun and fast gameplay that i could see being very addicting.

for a free to play game, i thought this had alot of meat to it, but i'm sure once you start spending money it begins to mroe complicated. let's put it this way, if i was a younger person, say 12-ish or so, i could easily envisioning myself playing the shit out of this.

All of that...except opposite.

I thought the game looked and played awful. They only thing I found enticing was the the quit button.

I like the visuals...but that's it. There's potential in the gameplay if it wasn't so unresponsive.
edit: I can't tell our posts apart based on avatar, spiker!!

i thought the gameplay was pretty responsive. i pushed the button and he attacked. i'm juding the game based on what it is and i'm not comparing it to something you would find on the PS3. i'm comparing it to other free MMO's out there in this category that i've seen. i remember seeing my nephew when he was younger playing club penguin and that WoW rip-off one i'm drawing a blank on right now. they both and played awful, and didn't seem to have the potential depth this one had.
