haha I didnt say it was better than Steam, but how is it not like Steam?

It manages your Origin game library, friend lists, it has a store, it will probably have achievements at some point... I'm not sure what I'm missing? Believe me, I'd rather not use Origin if I didn't have to.

I honestly don't care if it was exactly as good as steam. I already have all my games, saves, achievements, and friends in steam. That's where I buy my games, that's where I manage my games. I've got everything I want to do with PC gaming in steam already, and I don't need another platform that does the same thing.

for the sake of argument, and not really knowing that much about origin at all, ill toss my hat in the ring.

as we move further and further towards digital distrobution models for our content (im including books, movies, music, ect), it only makes sense that we have different "stores" to shop at. its what drives competition and what makes a better product. as great as steam is, if it somehow becomes the only place in the future where we can buy our games at, im willing to bet customure service will take a nose dive and prices will go higher.

I see what you're saying, but there's competition inside steam. Valve doesn't set the prices of everything in the store, publishers do. They compete with each other on the steam platform.

It's already at the top and no one is even close. Yet they still manage to have midweek sales, weekend sales and on top of those they have daily sales. They are also improving the service on a regular basis. I'm just worried about a future where every publisher has their own DD platform, I don't wunna have 5+ services running in the background at all times.

And Steve you are right, they are pretty much the same it's just that Origin is several years behind Steam.

The average bro player is also probably 13 years old and has no credit card.

I'm playing Dragon Quest 4 for DS right now and I'm having a ton of fun. I still love JRPGs. Cthulu is just a bad one.

Oh and numbers pop up over enemies heads when you hit them. I don't remember if the NES version is the same way.

Enjoyed the podcast. I would like to throw in a vote for Shatterhand in the next poll.

Probably gonna buy a cartridge for whatever wins this next one. Both of these games are reasonably inexpensive.
