i feel like i can answer the first question retroactively. i remember when the summer rolled around, i definitely played alot more games. especially when i was in collage. i never had time to play hardly anything when i was in school. grade was a bit different story. i'd play games all afternoon if i could then. shit, i'd play the all day now if i could, too.

I watch a ton of TV shows so when summer rolls around and all the season finales pass, then I definitely spend more time on games.

The seasons make very little difference when you're working full time... :(

But I do play tennis in the summer so that eats up some of my time. But in the winter time, I'd just be going to the gym more often instead.

Up until I graduated from high school, I played a lot more during the Summer. Since my birthday is in July I would always get at least one new game and play the hell out of it. During the Summer of '98, I must have spent literally around $100 just playing NFL Blitz and Tekken 3 in the arcade, and then when I got Tekken 3 for my Birthday, I used to bring my Playstation to work, and my friends, and the Marines we worked with, played it during our 1 1/2 hour lunch break, on top of the hours I spent playing at home. The Summers were also a time when you could get lost in games for hours, and not have to worry about time being wasted. I rented Megaman Legends, one Summer, and played the game about 20 hours in about a 36 hour time span, stopping only to eat, sleep, and workout, just because I liked the game that much, and because I only rented it for 1 day. The Summers, for me, were also when everyone either went on vacation, had Summer jobs, or moved away, so I was left by myself or with a few other people, so all there was to do, to pass the time away, was to go to arcades or each others houses to play games.

Now that I'm an adult, and don't have Summers off anymore, I can't play games like I used, but I generally try to play more, just because the high school and college kids are off from school, which gives me more people to play online with. Now that there are a greater amount "good" games coming out during the Summer, with a good deal of them being cheaper digital downloads, I'm starting to look foward to Summers again, as a time where I play games more often. Plus, Texas is just so damn hot, so I spend as much time inside as possible.

Back in the day I found myself playing more games around the Holidays because that is when I would get all the games I wanted (for Christmas usually...) and by the time summer came I had already beaten them. But nowadays I play more of my games in the summer and when I get a chance to play them in my spare time since now I can buy the games whenever I want.

unfortunately, i'm probably going to be stuck at work late again tonight, so i'm most likely going to miss the live broadcast. however, i'll definitely download it and give it a listen.

I actually probably play the same amouunt, i just feel more guilty for it. I feel like I should be outside on nice days, but that doesn't stop me from cranking up the air and sitting on my ass.

Sorry, my topic is really late today. I honestly couldn't think of anything, so mine is a bit more open ended a simple than normal.

What's your all time favorite RPG, and do you prefer JRPGs or Western RPGs?

My favorite RPG is Phantasy Star II...it is the first RPG I have ever played and beaten...the music and the anime characters are basically burned into my brain forever.

My favorite western and modern RPG is Oblivion...its still one of the best looking games I have ever seen.

The time of year normally doesn't affect how much I'm playing games, although I'm more busy during the winter season with all the holidays.

Vagrant Story is my favorite RPG, no question. It's a complete package. Amazing art direction, great music, a rich and compelling story, memorable characters, and a crafting system that I don't hate, which never happens. It's also a blast to play. I can't say enough good things about Vagrant Story.

I never really understood the western RPG. I've tried them time and time again, but they always come off as bland and boring to me. I guess it's the lack of direction that kills my interest. In a genre where a lot of time is spent grinding out levels and trying to find that next piece of armor, I need a WHY to keep me moving forward. I could care less that my no name character has a cool sword that shoots fire if there's no one I really want to set on fire. They are usually very in depth as far as freedom and customization goes, but learning the ins and outs of their game systems is a hindrance when I don't even know what the hell I'm fighting for.
