Not a fan of exergaming, I think a lot of exercising equipment is silly too. You can pretty much get all the exercise from a gym or exergaming just by running, sit ups, and push ups. but that's just for me, I doubt somebody with a busy schedule can drive to a gym and back on a regular basis :(

edit: not to discourage anyone, if exergaming gets you work out, power to yah

You probably could have had a decent weights/workout set-up if you didn't spend that many on Exergames!

Speaking of exercising, I should probably register for a local gym. I just hope I get enough use out if. I really don't want to turn into the typical dad who gains 10 lbs after he has kids. Dammit, I can already feel myself getting out of shape because of the past 4 months of non activity. This is not good, not good at all.

I don't have room for that stuff. :( I do have weights, I use them with the game!

The thing is, I have a hard time getting motivated. Sure I can run around the block, and do sit ups and push ups or whatever all for free (well I'd need to invest in some nice running shoes if that were the case). But I like that the games keep track of all these stats because it makes me feel like I'm making progress.

And Active puts programs together for you, if I were to do stuff on my own I'd be doing the same three exercises every day because I don't know what the fuck to do.

As for the money part, I've spent 200 dollars total on the four games I own which was spread over the course of what, almost four years? I bought my wife an exercise bike (which I had to clear space to make room for) which was about 200 dollars, was used for like a week and now collects dust. The balance board was the priciest thing I bought and it still gets used fairly often. And the gym, I'm just too self conscious to go there. So I haven't really spent too much money on this stuff in the grand scheme of things.
